Chapter 4: The Reunion

Kunzite

I looked at my arm the Steven had wrapped. I still felt bad for calling him 'Rose' earlier.

I took off my clothes, which were soaked, and put on the ones that he had offered me.

The shirt fit well, but the pants were a little smaller on me. They looked like shorts. I didn't mind.

I neatly folded my clothes the best I could (since I couldn't bend my wrist) and opened the door slowly.

Steven was sitting on the couch.

"H-Here." I said.

"You okay?" He asked.

"Y-yea." I said, a yawn slipping out.

"It is getting a little late. Are you tired?" Steven asked, picking up the blanket and throwing it up to his 'room'.

"I guess. I've never went to sleep before though." I never really had the chance to sleep.

"Do you want to sleep upstairs with Connie and I?" He asked.

"S-Sure."

"Here." I took his hand that he offered and he took me up to his room.

"You can sleep here." He put a few pillows and the blanket on the floor by his 'tv'.

I lay down as Steven and Connie changed into their pajamas.

"Goodnight." Steven said.

"Goodnight." I repeated.

I woke up in the middle of the night. I heard a noise, like footsteps. Sitting up, I peeked over the edge of the floor. Then I heard a loud crash, followed by annoyed mumbling.

I slowly walked down the stairs to see a green gem, about my height, trying to silently fix some items that had fallen over. I knew who it must've been. I thought back to what Steven had said on the beach.

"...Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Connie. And Peridot's back at the Temple."

I saw who this Pearl and Amethyst were. Garnet was a fusion. Connie was his friend. So this must've been Peridot. But...is it the Peridot?

"P-Peridot?" I whispered.

I stepped closer.

"Peridot?" I said a little louder.

She turned around.

Peridot's eyes widened. She dropped a box that was in her hand.

"K-Kunzite?" I smiled and nodded.

Peridot ran up and hugged me. I hugged her back, but then:

"Ah!" I said, grabbing my arm as she released me.

"I'm sorry, Kun. I just...I missed you." Peridot blushed as tears formed in her eyes.

"Where were you?" She asked, the tears flowing down her cheeks.

"I was looking for you. I lost my limb enhancers, and I see you did, too." I said.

"Where did you know to look for me?" Peri asked.

"I overheard Yellow Diamond saying the coordinates of where your ship was going. After your ship had reportedly crashed, I stole a pod to come here and find you. I've been looking for you, but now I can't go back. They're looking for me."

"You can join us."

"W-What?" I asked. She grabbed my shoulders.

"You can join the Crystal Gems. You can stay here with us. Will you?"

I stood there for a moment. Peri's eyes were filled with happiness and tears.

"Yes." I said.

"Yay!" Peri said, gently hugging me. Then, she picked me up and spun me around and around, being careful of my arm.

Her glasses fell to the ground.

Our gems began to glow.

We were finally Zoisite once again.
