The morning after they shared a bed, Chloe woke up next to Beca, who was still sleeping. A sickeningly sweet smile washed over her face as she leaned onto her side and stared at the brunette's messy hair and content expression. The bed covers had fallen down to the girl's waist and her arms had disappeared underneath the pillow below her head.
For some time, Chloe lay there, appreciating the silence and simplicity of the moment. Right now, she had Beca all to herself- no make up, no distractions from the outside world, and with no one else to witness her natural beauty.
'Beca', she whispered, placing a hand onto her shoulder and shaking it gingerly.
The brunette didn't appear to awake from her deep slumber immediately, so Chloe tried squeezing the top of her arm. When this didn't make Beca stir, she resorted to her final plan.
'Beca', she breathed before putting one hand onto the girl's face and leaning in to plant a kiss on her forehead.
As she pulled away from the kiss, her hand still resting on Beca's cheek, the DJ's eyes struggled open.
'What are you doing?', croaked Beca moodily.
'Good morning!'
Turning the other way, Beca used her back as a barricade to signal that conversation would not be happening at that time in the morning. Hell, she often found it unbearable to talk to people at humane times of the day, let alone at this early hour.
'I thought we could go out on a trip, Becs'
Beca's back didn't reply- it lay forcefully in the way.
'...To cheer us up. We've had a bad time recently'
'Mhm', a grunt agreed.
'So...', Chloe said, a sense of excitement building in her tone of voice, 'I was wondering if you would like to go for a walk on the beach'
'Mmmmm...', said the grunt, unconvinced.
'I promise you'll enjoy it'
Lugging herself over to face Chloe, Beca squinted, then rubbed at her tired eyes.
'Can I throw you in the sea if I don't enjoy it?'
'Absolutely'
Beca yawned, and answered, 'I might go with you', before closing her eyes and trying to fall asleep again.
'That's a yes then', Chloe said, abruptly pulling the covers back and exposing her and Beca's creased bed clothes, which made the brunette shrivel up into the foetal position with a throaty groan.
Smirking, Chloe got out of bed and strolled over to her wardrobe to search for an outfit, then she headed to the bathroom, leaving Beca curled up on her mattress. The DJ swiftly pulled the sheets back up to her armpits and settled her head on the pillow with a thud.

Returning to the bedroom fully-dressed, Chloe rolled her eyes at Beca, who had blatantly fallen asleep.'Let's get some sunshine in here', the redhead said under her breath as she walked with determination to the curtains.
With one sweeping motion, the curtains were dramatically pulled open with a smile that soon turned into a disappointed frown. Outside, rain had begun to fall, and the clouds in the sky were gloomy and overhanging.
'Does this mean we don't have to go to the beach after all?', Beca chirped, suddenly dropping the act of fake slumber.
Chloe was ever so slightly startled, before she turned over her shoulder to wink in reply, 'Make sure you bring a coat, Becs'

Almost two hours after Chloe initially proposed the idea, her and Beca were travelling to the seaside in her car. Both of them were wearing casual outfits consisting of black jeans and an oversized, red plaid shirt for Beca, and a pair of black leggings matched with a cream cable knit jumper for Chloe. Their coats were piled onto the back seats, waiting to be worn.
