LUKA'S POV

Having the Dawson's stay in the pack house was a smart choice. If I were still a child, just getting to know Raelynn, then having them live with us would have been a dream come true. Even still, I am more than pleased with my decision.

That evening of their first night, when Rae and I were alone playing Mario Kart...everything just felt... right. I don't know if that is the proper way to explain it but it's the only word I can think of. We had no disturbances, no arguments and no worries. It was just the two of us like old times and I couldn't have been happier.

So when December flew past and it was time for Rae and Willow to go back to school I will admit that the thought still makes me sad. Rae didn't want any big celebrations for herfifteenth birthday but I still got her a cake and a new graphic t-shirt. Iwanted to get her more but she refused. Instead we had a small gathering at thepack house with Willow, Naal, myself, Abrielle and her parents. We sang happybirthday and watched movies.

It's been such a long time since Rae and I truly had time to spend together and already that time has vanished. It always leaves me missing my youth. Which is why I like to bury myself in work in times like these. It would also be nice to bury myself in Zuri but she's busy helping her father today.

My relationship with Zuri has always been odd. I've never dated anyone in my pack before so the opportunity to see her is always present but the timing is never right. Besides with another year passing it draws me closer to making a decision for my Luna. I wish I was able to decide on someone but my heart just isn't in it. And neither is my wolf.

"Alpha, young Alpha Willow, Raelynn Dawson and a young human boy have returned from school." I nod to the enforcer and continue with my paperwork before I pause. A young human boy? Who is he talking about?

"Wait come back here please." I hear his footsteps arrive and I stand from my chair and walk around the desk. "You said a young human boy? What are you talking about?" I ask hum curiously.

"He is said to be a friend of young Alpha Willow and Raelynn Dawson. They said he is a partner for a science project." A science project... well that makes sense.

"Thank you." As the enforcer leaves I push my hearing towards Rae's room just to make sure they are doing homework.

"So why isn't Pluto a planet anymore?" That's Rae's voice for sure.

"It is now considered a dwarf planet. I guess they deemed it too small to be considered amongst the other eight planets. Think of it this way, that's one less planet to memorize for this assignment." The boy's voice is already deep for his age and by his scent he is definitely a human. As long as they're working I am content.

Getting back to my paper work I scan through what is left to be done. The majority of the work here are permits and taxes to look over. All of it is completely boring. Signing and carefully reading each sheet is strenuous and annoying but oh so necessary has the elders tell me.

"Alpha you are needed in training room 3." That's Peter's voice and thankfully it doesn't sound urgent so I have no need to rush just yet.

"I have just a few more things to sign and then I will be there." Scanning through the papers I quickly sign what really needs attention and put the papers away for another time. Stretching my back, I head to training room three where Peter is waiting for me with a pup under his arm.

"So why was I called here?" I ask jokingly. Peter grins and pats the kid on the back. He looks to be no older than sixteen.

"This pup right here is the first warrior to be accepted before the age of 18." Peter says with a full blown smile. It's obvious he's proud of the kid and the others lingering in the room seem to agree.
