Rebekah's POV
How could he do this to me? My mom died two months ago and now my dad wants to move to Italy with my Aunt Mary. I mean I've already lost my mom, now I have to lose my house, friends, and my boyfriend. This is not fair what so ever. As I walked up to the house I felt something was missing from it.
"Rebekah dinner is ready!" Dad called from inside.
"Coming!" I called back.
As I walked inside I noticed that all of the furniture in the living room was missing. I ran all through the house. Everything was gone. Everything. My bedroom was bare. Even the my posters of the musicals I'd been to were gone. Wow. I leave the house for two hours and everything disappears. Three suitcases were stacked neatly in the corner of my bedroom by the window. I walked over to them and unzipped the first one. My laptop and shoes were the only things in there. As I unzipped the rest of them I found my makeup, hair stuff, and clothes. Ugh! I don't want to leave! I heard my dad start walking up the stairs. As quickly as I could, I shove everything back into the suitcases and stood up.
"Rebekah where are you-"
He looked at me as tears streamed down my face. He ran up to me and gave me a hug.
"I know it's hard. I didn't like it when I moved from Italy to America, but I adapted to it. You'll love Italy I'm sure. Besides. Aunt Mary lives in high society so you'll will meet a lot of people that you could be friends with."
I couldn't even reply. I know that he was trying hard to connect with me, but lets face it. Me and him have never had a connection and never will. He tries so hard and we fail every time. All I can think about is losing everyone. I haven't even told my friends yet. What will they say? Or do? My life is nothing without my boyfriend Aaron. I wonder if a long distance relationship would work? No it would be to hard. But maybe...
"Can I have a party?" I asked.
"Um, sure. Why?"
"I want to tell all of my friends at once that I'm moving. Maybe it will be better than telling them individually. You know, so that I won't start crying each time."
A look of understanding crossed his face. He backed up and nodded. The hug was uncomfortable and weird.
"Maybe you're right. Dinner is down stairs when you're ready. It's pizza from PizzaHut."
My favorite! Dad must be REALLY trying to cheer me up. As he left I took out my phone and texted my friends. "Party @ my house 2morrow." I instantly got a ton of replies. Mainly "I'm there!" and "ok gurl!" My friends are so weird. Maybe leaving was the best for us. I mean, I've finished high school and I probably could go to college in a foreign country. No biggy right? Except the fact the me and my BFF Angela were planing on going to college together at California Tech. I'll worry about that tomorrow night. I walked out of my now empty room into the kitchen. My dad was eating.
"Finally decided to join me?" He asked, a smile playing at the corner of his lips.
"Yep." I opened the pizza box to find only two pieces of pizza left.
"You eat a lot! I mean how many does that make it? Like 6 pieces?"
He looked down at his piece. "So? I like pizza."
We both smiled. As I ate my second pizza he excused himself from the room. I finished and threw away the plastic plates we were using. I waited for my dad to return. After 15 minutes he appeared holding a small box covered in red wrapping paper. He looked a little unsure as he handed the box to me. The box was a little heavy. Suddenly a growl erupted from inside of it, causing me to drop the it. A little black and white dog ran out from under the box.
"Aww! It's so cute!" I called.
"You like it? I know that your mom was going to get you one for your birthday so I thought that I'd get you one, you know so you'll have a companion on the plane." He said, stuttering a little bit.
I ran over to him and gave him a hug. I felt a tear escape from my eye.
"Thank you, dad. I love you."
"Love you too kid. I have a few more matters to attend to so I'll be busy for some of the night."
We broke apart and he left. I picked up the squirmy little puppy. He is so adorable! He licked my face and yapped. I smiled, hugged him, and sat him down on the floor. He instantly started chasing after a ray of sunshine.
"What to name you? Sam? Blacky? Doggy?"
I thought for a minute. Suddenly I had the perfect name!
"I'm going to call you Emery!"
He yapped. Perfect! I walked upstairs and laid on the mat that my dad laid out for me. Before I knew it I was asleep.
