Chapter 8

Time lapse of 6 days

3rd person

Not much has changed with Emma. The camp, though still grieving, are, for the most part, back on track.

Emma

It's been 6 days since I last slept. When I had finally decided to go to sleep, I had to deal with a repeating nightmare. I had to watch Jason's death. I had tried to manipulate my dreams, like I had done to so many others, but for once, I failed. I was stuck watching the life slowly drain out of his eyes. I was stuck watching my boyfriend, the person I had become...us crumbled before my eyes. I was stuck watching my heart shatter to a million pieces. But this time, I noticed something I hadn't before. jase was mouthing something to me. He was mouthing "I love you!"

Nico walked into my room. Oh great! Deathboy's here! Note the sarcasim. "Em," Nico I said, " I know I'm probably the last person you want to talk to, but I have something for you." he continued, pulling a folded piece of paper out of his pocket, "Jase told me to give this to you if something ever happened to him." he finished handing me the paper. I looked at the paper in my hand. It was folded and on the front it read 'To my Love". I unfolded the paper and began to read. It read:

To my Watergirl,

If you are reading this, then that must mean that I am no longer there to comfort you. I just needed you to now that I love you! I loved you since the day you walked into our Geometry class, and I've loved you every moment after that, and I always will. You made me a different person, one I can be proud of and I not only love you for who you are, but for who I am with you, and I'm sorry. I know I must have hurt you and when I died, Im sure that a part of you died with me, but you need to promise me something. I KNOW you will never forget me, so don't deprive yourself of happiness. I'll see you when I see you ( which better be a long time away). This means that you better not think of exchanging your life for mine (because I know you well enough that you would absolutely try to do that and I'm sure Percy will have to fight you to keep you from doing so)! We have faced so many obstacles throughout our relationship, whether it was me being kidnapped and forgetting everything, aside from you, or us being thrown into Tartarus, and I KNOW we can make it through this and in the end, it will just make us stronger. So take your time and grieve, but don't let me ruin your life, because you deserve better then that. I am just sorry that I'm not there to insure your happiness. Im sorry that I can't be your everything. However, I promise you that I will love you! Forever, For Always and No Matter What! (By the way, no matter what includes death.) You said you didn't want to live happily ever after, because true love never ends, and you were right, true love doesn't end. I'm still right here. Just know that I love you and I'll wait for you. I miss you, Em!

I clutched the note to my heart. The page was covered with tears and I still had tears running own my face. I love you too, Jase!

Flashback

We were sitting by the fire, roasting marshmallows. Percy, Annabeth, Jase and I were all sitting around the fire pit. My chair was currently in between the pool and fire. Jase turned to me. "Hey, Em!" he said smiling. "want to go for a swim?" "No!" I quickly responded. he looked confused. "but you're a daughter of poseidion?" he said. "Yeah and I'm wearing clothes." I stated matter a factly. 'that didn't stop you before he said through our mind link. I shot him a glare and he smirked. "If I go in, you go in!" I said, assuming he wouldn't want to mess up his 'precious hair'. "fine!" he said standing up and taking off his shirt. "let's go!" he said. I looked at him. "You know that's not what I ment" I replied, slightly annoyed. He stared at me " you can go in the easy way or my way!" he said. I returned his stare. "I said I'm not going in!" I replied. He smiled. "My way it is then!" he said grabbing me and throwing me into the pool. Next he did a cannon ball off the diving board and into the deep end. "I'll get you back for this!" I teased. "yeah right!" he said "Like that will ever happen!" I looked at him. "Fine!" I stated, " No kisses for a week!" his expression was hilarious! "what!? That isn't fair! All I did was bring a child of POSEIDION into the water!" "yes," I replied "but you did so against my will!" "ugh this is so not fair! percy!?" he said, motioning to my older brother for help. "sorry man," Perc said. " she's got a point!" I turned to Jase. " and next time you need help defending why you should be able to kiss me, I strongly suggest you don't ask my OLDER brother! I mean, really, wise brain?" jase rolled his eyes. " I bet you $30 you can't go a week without kissing me." I looked at him questionably. " me kissing you or you kissing me?" I asked. " Both!" he stated. "Deal" I said. " you want to seal that deal with a kiss?" he asked. I laughed. "It isn't going to be that easy, Wisebrain!" I replied. A little later jase wrapped is arms around my waist, while we were still in the pool. He went to go kiss me on the cheek, but was meant with a face-full of water. I laughed. "really" he said "really? That's just low." he finished giving me a devilish grin. " No one said this was going to be easy!" I replied. After one week, guess who got $30! This girl! Thats who! Point one for Poseidion's child!
