I hadn't looked this corny since I was forced to go to Senior Prom. Brandi was really doing the most with these ugly ass dresses. But for the sake of my best friend, I didn't complain. Brandi herself looked gorgeous. I guess she just wanted to make sure she was the sexiest thing in the room cause the bridal party was looking ridiculous.
The ceremony was short & sweet. Brandi & Darren were party people, so the reception was most important to them. Thankfully the bridesmaids & I were allowed to change into little black dresses for the reception. Good thing too, because I couldn't shake my ass in that ugly cloth I was wearing for the ceremony. Me & my girls tore up that dance floor the whole night. We were so twisted, I'm convinced we cleaned out the bar. I expected the girls to hassle me about drinking but they let me chill tonight. To be honest, I needed to just get drunk & let loose. There had been so much going through my head lately. I just didn't really understand how else to deal with my emotions. So most of the time I didn't deal with anything.

Macabre was home with the baby tonight, she didn't have to work today which was a relief. Any night she wasn't at that God forsaken place I was happy. I really didn't want her working but it gave her a sense of purpose. Was I supposed to lock her up in the house? Make her miserable?
As the night winded down & more people went home, I took refuge at one of the tables. I was texting Mac back & forth. Our relationship had gotten back to the honeymoon stage lately. Ever since the whole incident with my uncles, a lot of emotions have been running a muck through our house. Finally we settled back into loving each other and focusing on the positive instead of the negative.
Brandi saw me sitting off to the side & came over to see how I was doing.
"You turning down?" She questioned.
"I'm just talking to baby girl. I'm tryna see how shes doing." I explained.
"Hows everything between y'all? Are y'all healing at all from whats been going on?"
"We've come a long way, you know. We're finally back in a good place."
"I'm happy for you. Hopefully by next year I'm in your wedding,"

I smiled hard. Brandi and I hadn't been friends for that long but it was long enough. Our friendship was strong as hell & I wouldn't want anyone else in my wedding more than her. She was the main person who had been there to support me in the last year, besides Mac.
"If this girl don't leave me because of the bullshit I do, I'd love to have you in my wedding."

Getting home, the house was quiet. I found Macabre asleep in Camille's room, she was curled up on the recliner we kept in there. Cami had been running a fever lately. She had a bit of a cold & Mac refused to leave her side.

"Wake up," I said softly.

Mac didn't want to get up, she groaned at me & rolled over to the other side of her body. I picked her up & carried her back to our bedroom, placing her down on our bed.
"How was the wedding?" She whispered without even opening her eyes.
"It was long as hell. I wanted to come home like 2 hours ago." I replied.
"It was boring?"
"Not really. You know I hate weddings & shit. I just don't feel comfortable."

Mac nodded, curling up under the covers. She attempted to go back to sleep & I joined her. But after an hour of her tossing and turning, she realized she wasn't sleeping any time soon. All her movement kept me from sleeping so when she got out of the bed, I was up with her.
She went down to the kitchen, I guess she was hungry. But I noticed she left her phone behind when it went off, catching my attention. Mac had received a few texts from the same person. The name Paloma flashes across the screen. I knew Mac's password so I unlocked her phone & started going through the messages with this girl. The caller ID photo blew me away; this girl was gorgeous. Telling from the messages, this girl worked at the club with Mac. Yuck. I could feel the fire of jealousy burning through me. All I saw was red, I was super agitated.
Max was coming back up the stairs so I locked her phone & put it back where I found it. It really bothered me that Max was texting such a beautiful woman. I know that makes me sound beyond insecure but I was when it came to her. I knew I didn't deserve her so I got paranoid any time someone tried to talk to her.
Upon getting in bed with a bowl of ice cream, Mac picked up her phone. As she scrolled through her messages & replied to some, she smiled. This only bothered me more, like what the fuck was so funny?
"Who you talking to?" I questioned.
"Nobody, just my friend." Mac replied.
"You got friends now?"
"Yes, from work. Whats your problem?"
"I ain't got no problem."
"Nani, stop talking to me like I don't know you. I can hear it in your voice, you're pissed about some shit."
"You got it fucked up, I'm fine."

Max rolled her eyes. She did know me quite well, but I wasn't about to admit my jealousy. I know how stupid it was for me to even upset so I kept it to myself.
