Night Phoenix

Chapter Three

It was a bright and warm day and I had to go with April to explore the forest. I didn't want to but my mom is making me. I feel like I was brought along to be the slave of the trip. I'm doing everything, I swear.

"Look how pretty! And the wind sounds so cool in the trees!" She was jumping up and down as she gazed around the green thick trees.

"It looks like a forest." I said grumpily and looked around.

She glared at me and went back to her jumping. I was so annoyed by her. By everyone pretty much. I can't do anything I want without it being ruined by someone! I walked over and sat on a log and looked at the trees. It did look pretty but I would rather be inside watching Hunger Games or Star Wars.

"It's getting colder and darker I think it's going to rain. Let's head back to the cabin." I looked around for April, but couldn't find her.

"April? Stop hiding like a child let's go." I stood up and looked around. She was nowhere.

I sighed "April I'm not in mood to do this crap." I felt anger swelling inside me. She is too old to act like a three year old.

I looked around in the trees. It was getting darker and thunder was rumbling in the distance. I was getting worried and scared. I have never been a thunder storm fan. I looked around once more for April but she wasn't anywhere. She may have gone back already. Just in case, I walked around through the trees trying to find her.

"Apr-" I slipped down a muddy hill without even seeing it. I screamed as I stumbled down it. It felt like it was never ending and I was on the verge of puking. All of the sudden I hit my head and everything went black as I blacked out.

When I woke up I groaned from the pain in my head. I opened my eyes to see tons of dark figures surrounding me. I propped myself up on my elbows. I moved my gaze from the different figures. All of them had the glowing amber eyes. I was frightened.

"Who? Where?" I looked around at all of them, dazed. One of them leaned extremely close to me.

"Where did you come from?" I was shocked at the sweet voice of a girl.

"Umm..." I laid flat on the cold earth to get further from the figure.

"Dakota! How rude! She is frightened!" One of the other females grabbed Dakota's arm and pulled her away.

"Lance go get Rhy." The girl who pulled Dakota off said to another figure.

The one turned and ran. I looked around at them confused. Where am I? Who are they? Is April here? As I looked around for April all of them spread out giving me space. I saw glowing eyes coming closer to me. The figure grabbed my arm harshly. I gasped from the hard grip.

"Who are you and how did you find us?" The voice was angry and stern.

"I don't know. I fell down a hill and blacked out. Now I'm here." I said with my chin held high.

The eyes squinted a little as it looked me over. It shook it's head and pushed me back to the others.

"Take her to get treated. She can never go back now. Might as well make her one of us." It turned and walked away leaving me.

I looked around as two of them grabbed me and walked me away. I looked around where I was. It was a dark forest with dense fog everywhere. It reminded me of the darkness that took over the sky at the cabin. There was a small building in front of us with dim lights shining from the window.

"I'm Sanvi." Sanvi nodded her head over to the other. "That is Nia."

"What are you? And what do you mean by 'change me'?" They didn't answer my question and opened the door to the building.
