I woke to the sound of swords clashing against each other down stairs. Groaning I rolled of the bed and grabbed my cloak from the top of the dresser and headed down the stairs. When I saw the culprits I rolled my eyes and made my way to the serving girl really hungry, it was

Darrin and Derrick. “Hi, what is your name”, I asked politely.

She just ignored me and tried to look past me at Darrin and Derrick fighting. Darrin was obviously in a good mood because he was laughing and going easy on his younger brother. He wasn’t wearing anything on his top half and was showing off his muscled chest. I had seen it many times so it was nothing new but the girl was obviously hypnotized by it.

“So you like Darrin?” I asked trying to get her attention.

“If that is what his name is then yes…who wouldn’t?” She said still staring at him.

I raised my hand and smiled, “Me! Now can you please get me something to eat?” I asked.

“What! How can you not find him attractive? Plus he is amazing with the sword and he just looks perfect. His voice is to die for, there is no way that you don’t like him. Also do you have money?”

“I never said he wasn’t attractive but I don’t like him. Oh, and yes.” I dug around in my pocket for the money then realized Darrin hadn’t handed me any. I frowned and yelled over to him, “Hey Darrin get over here!”

He saw me and smiled quickly disarming Derrick before jogging over to me. “What is it love?”

“You took my money and I am hungry”, I said angrily. “Oh and you woke me up from a peaceful sleep with all of that noise, idiot.”

He just laughed and handed the shocked girl the money and sat down next to me at the table I had chosen. We were soon joined by Kiad and Derrick. Derrick had a huge frown on his face, “You went easy on me didn’t you Darrin?” he said annoyed.

“Yep, if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have gotten much of a fight now would I? Sorry Krystal for waking you but it was about time for you to get up anyway we are leaving after breakfast.”

I frowned, “Fine but you still aren’t forgiven.” I rested my head on Darrin’s shoulder and closed my eyes waiting for the food.

The serving girl returned with a tray full of food. “Here…and are you two…together?”

“Yes”, Darrin replied without even looking up.

“No, we are just friends”, I said knowing it would annoy Darrin. He deserved it after waking me up this morning I had been having a good dream where I had befriended a dragon. To be honest I had only seen one dragon and we were definitely not friends no thanks to Darrin.

Darrin glared at me for a second before saying, “She’s my fiancée.”

This made Mindy’s mouth just drop. I could have sworn it hit the floor. I resisted the urge to laugh and said, “Yeah, not by choice though. My father is trying to make me marry him.”

“You…You don’t want to marry him?” she asked still in shock.

“Absolutely not,” I stated bored. I just wanted to finish eating and see Gabe I hadn’t seen him in years and he was the only remaining family I had that I actually cared about. Well I cared if my father was sick but I really didn’t get along with him.

I could hear Derrick and Kiad laughing and I looked back to see Darrin giving them the death glare. I personally didn’t mind that they thought it was funny that I didn’t want to marry Darrin. In my opinion it would be ten times better if I didn’t actually have to marry him.
