My head felt groggy like I had just woken up from a deep sleep, and my limbs were numb. For some reason my stomach felt as if it were shriveled and empty. What did I do to deserve a wake up like this? It was hard but I managed to open my eyes only to find my vision was like fogged glass. After a few blinks it wiped away the fog and revealed a figure of a man kneeled before me. Suddenly it hit me! Brody did all this!
I sent the hardest and fastest kick I could manage right into his face. He deserved every ounce of pain it caused.
" Brody you're a dead man." I yelled in the darkness. He was so dead once I got my hands on him.
" Gahhhhh, Really?! It's me Ivan!" Cried the man I had just kicked, his voice shook a little from what I can only assume was the pain.
" Oh! Sorry." I said as I crawled over to him. Damn, can't I do anything right here?
" God I swear, what is Brody thinking?" Ivan whispered under his breath. Clearly Brody was up to something bad.
" Where are we?" I asked as I strained my eyes to see through the darkness. Not only could I not see all too well but, my sense of smell was thrown off by the overwhelming stench that lingered in here. It was a metallic stench that smelled familiar but I couldn't quite think why. My head was still fuzzy and even thinking of words was hard.
" I don't know." He said sounding defeated. I wasn't use to this Ivan, he wasn't himself. Normally he was confident and capable but right now he was just like me.
" What? Then how did you get here?" I asked now questioning everything.
I assumed Ivan had figured out what Brody had done and came to save Boris and I. Sadly from the looks of things he didn't succeed. I guess things aren't always like the movies.
" I went back the the kitchen where I had left you. I noticed your food in the trash and knew something was wrong." He said sounding a little congested. Probably from the broken nose I had just inflicted on him. I felt so bad, and after all he did for me I had to go and break his nose.
" What about that alarmed you?" I asked as I didn't see how that could tell him Brody took me. An omelet in the trash doesn't scream much if you ask me.
" Anna we both know you would never willingly throwaway food. Plus you hadn't eaten in at least 12 hours." He said back, he did have a valid point I really wanted to finish that omelet. I'm not even offended by that.
" How did you find me then?" I asked as I took off my scarf and gave it to him." Here use this to stop the bleeding." I ordered with concern dripping from every word.
" Thanks. Well first I called Boris, he is good at tracking people, and I thought he could help me. When I called he didn't answer. If there is one thing Boris doesn't do is ignore the phone. So I called Greg, he was suppose to work with Boris today and told me he hadn't seen him. I immediately ran to Dimitri's office." Ivan said in a hushed tone. Why was he whispering? Although I couldn't see, I was sure we were alone in here.
" What did he do?!" I asked also in a hushed tone. Did he drop everything and panic? Or did he brush Ivan off like it wasn't worth his time? I hope it's the first,
" Well he told me to find you and if Brody had anything to do with your disappearance that I would be ordered to..." Ivan suddenly stoped to let out a sigh." I was ordered to kill him." He finished.
" But he is Dimitri's brother!" I argued happy but surprised at the same time. So Dimitri did care about my safety.
" Dimitri has been very lenient to both Brody and me lately. I think it has something to do with you Anna. He has let Brody get away with too much lately and his kindness can only go so far. Once I get the chance I'm killing Brody." Ivan said before a heavy metal door to the room came flying open.
