Thranduil's POV
"She is well my lord" she admits. I sigh in relief. "But, we don't know when she would awake"
"That's okay, as long as she's well, that's the main thing" I say, relieved. "May I go in?"
"Yes, but do not move her, her wounds have been stitched but could still bleed out." She informs.
I nod and walk into the dark room. I walk towards the bed Miriel lays in. I pull a chair over and hold her hand.
"Please wake up soon Miriel, come back to me" I say to her.

A month later
"My lord, you must eat something" the captain tells me.
"I won't until she wakes up." I stubbornly say.
"You have not eaten for a month, you need to eat." he insists.
"I have gone without food for much longer" I tell him.
"At least go refresh yourself for a few minutes. I'll stay here while you're gone and I will leave when you come back"
"Alright, but if she awakes, inform me immediately!" I order him.
"Yes my lord"
I walk out of Miriel's room as she was moved there a week ago and go to refresh myself.
Miriel's POV
I awake on something comfortable. It felt like my bed. I go to lift myself up but pain shoots up from my stomach and I groan.
"My queen!" I hear a familiar voice exclaim.
I slowly open my eyes to see my captain beside my bed.
"Kellorin?" I ask, my voice croaky.
"Yes, would you like some water?" he asks.
I nod and he helps me up gently before giving me a glass of water.
"How long have I been out for?" I ask him.
"A month, my lady" he says. "King Thranduil has not left your side since, just before you got up, I had to get him to leave so he can eat and freshen up a bit."
I feel bad for I must have worried him.
"I will go get him, he told me to get him if you woke" he told me and bows before leaving.
I sigh and lift up my covers to see that I am in my night dress and there is bandage wrapped around my stomach and one around my arm. I put the covers down and sit for a while. Then I hear the door open and I see Thranduil standing there with relief on his face. He strides over t me and gently wraps his arms around me in a hug.
"I am so glad you're awake" he says to me.
"I'm sorry I worried you" I tell him, wrapping my good arm around him.
We pull back and he sits on the edge of the bed looking at me.
"I heard you didn't leave my side once." I tell him.
"That's true, your captain, the healers and your maids tried to get me out." He chuckles.
"Do you remember what you were going to say to me when we got interrupted in the garden?" I ask him.
He looks at me and nods. He takes a deep breath and sits closer. "I still love you Miriel Estelmist" he confessed.
I sit there for a moment, still registering what he had said. He looks at me with worry. Finally, after recovering from my shock I tell him "I love you too Thranduil"
He smiles and we slowly lean in. We look into each other's eyes before he closes the gap between us and we kiss. It was soft and full of love and passion. Remembering that we needed to breathe, we pull apart and smile at each other. He tries to go for another kiss but I push his face away from me with a smile.
"Why?" he whines, pouting.
"I'm tired, I need to sleep" I tell him, still smiling.
"Then I'll sleep with you" he tells me.
He walks over to the other side of the bed and slips under the covers. He pulls me over to him, careful of my wounds and pulls the covers over the both of us.
"Sleep now, my love. I'll look after you" he kisses my forehead and drags his fingers through my hair.
I soon drift off into a peaceful sleep. (A/N: a peaceful sleep full of fluffy unicorns in a world of marshmallows and chocolate rivers)
