When I pull back from her, she has this look in her eyes, I don't know if she wants to slap me or kiss me again. "I'm sorry ma, I just felt like that was the right thing to do." I said taking off my hat, rubbing my head. I hope I ain't scare her off or nothing because I kissed her, I mean she did kiss me back. She turned around towards the window and looked at me again. Up and down. She pulled me in and kissed me again, sucking on my tongue. She pulled away and turned around like she was embarrassed. "Can we leave now?" She said playing with her ear. "Yeah slim, I'll take you back now." I said starting up my car. The whole ride back is awkwardly silent. She didn't say anything or look my direction the whole way. "You aight slim?" I asked as we started to pull up to Tia's house. "I'm fine." She said rubbing her face. "Don't tell anyone about tonight ok?" She said as we stopped. "This between us baby, whatever happens between us is our business." I said turning off my car. I got out of the car and walked her to the door. "Can I call you tonight?" I asked as we approach the door. "No." She said turning around to look at me. "I'll call you." She said smiling. "Don't scare me like that ma." I laughed. As of tonight, I don't know what we are, I don't even know if she thinking about me like that. "Wait, You ain't got my number." I yelled before she walked into the house. "I'll find it." She said walking off. I watch her walk in and start to bite my lip, she's crazy for not thinking she's fine. "What was all that." Pistol asks  pushing me. "All what?" I ask sucking my teeth. "You and Jade. You hit that?" He says smirking. "No man." I said irritated. "Damn you ain't gotta do all that fat head ass." He said pushing my head. I hurried to get him home, because I wanted see if she would call me.

-Monday.

"Quincy, get up." My momma said shaking me up. "Come on boy, get up so you can goto school shit." She said slapping my head. I got up, took a quick shower and brushed my teeth. I stood at my closet looking for me something to wear. I decided on a raiders shirt, with a jean jacket and grey hoodie.

I picked my hair out and went downstairs. "I'm gone be late for work playing with you boy. Come on." She said throwing on a jacket. I drive her to work every morning because she gets off work real late, so she lets me use her car, so that I want have to walk to school. "I been ready momma. That's you." I laughed. She grabbed her purse and we walked out of the house. I could see Jade , Tia and Amber getting in the car across the street. She picks them up every morning. "Stop daydreaming and bring your ass boy." My momma said slamming the car door. She always talking shit. I got in the car and started to pull out of the parking lot. "Oh yeah, some little girl called for you last night, while you were out doing god knows what." She said with an attitude. "She said her name was Jay, Jade, Jan. Something like that." she said rolling her eyes. "Oh yeah, it was Jade." I smiled. So she did call. "Quincy, I don't want you around here getting none of these little fast girl pregnant. You hear me?" She raising her finger to me. "Momma, calm down. She ain't even like that. She not even my girlfriend." I laughed. "Jade? That sounds familiar. Her last name Johnson?" She asked scrunching up her face. "Yeah, Jade Johnson." I nodded my head. "I used to go clubbing with her momma, LaKiesha back in the day before you moved with me. God rest her soul. I was there that night she got killed, I learned my lesson that night." She said shaking her head. "What happened?" I asked turning down the street to her job. "We had got into with some girls in the club that night because they were dancing too close to us. Kiesh and the girl shared words then they fought and Kiesh beat her up. Blood and all , I'm guessing the girl got mad because she came back and shot Kiesh twice. Once in the head and one in the back." She said starting to tear up. "Ever since then none of hang out like we used to. I speak to Tiff (Tia & Amber's mom) whenever I see her and I don't even know where Erica is today." She sniffled. I gave her a hug. In my whole 17 years of life I only seen my momma cry two times. She's a tough woman. "Have a good day momma I love you." I said kissing her cheek. "I love you to Quincy. Be safe okay, don't be out doing nothing stupid." She said kissing my cheek. "I won't momma." I said starting up the car. "One more thing, if you're thinking about messing around with Keisha's daughter. Don't hurt her, the girl has been through enough." She said before walking into work. Who would have thought that my mom knew her mom. I finally drove off to school. Everyone is still standing in the courtyard, so that means I'm not late. I saw Jade sitting by herself, so I went over to talk to her. She looked real pretty today.

"Hey slim." I said sneaking up behind her. She looked at me and rolled her eyes. "What I do?" I asked holding my hands up. "I don't appreciate you not answering the phone when I called. Who was that answering your phone anyways?" She said with an attitude. "Calm down slim, that was my moms." I laughed.  "Oh. I'm sorry, where you was?" She said laughing also. "I was out handling business, why you mad I ain't answer any ways? You don't fuck with me remember?" I laugh, playfully pushing her. "I don't, just because you kiss good, don't mean I like your ass all of a sudden." She said rolling her neck. "I beg to differ ma, you kissed back and pulled me in for another one." I said as I put my hands on her waist and pulled her in my direction. "Well, if nobody's looking maybe you can kiss me again." She said real low. I look around to make sure no by is nobody is paying us any attention. Nobody is looking so I grab her by the waist and kiss her. I pulled back and let out a deep breath and she start blushing.   "You like me huh?" I smirk giving her a side eye. "Boy bye, I ain't thinking bout you." She smiles flipping her hair. We started smiling at each other in silence until...

"Jay?" Tia called coming out of the building. "Huh?" She turned looking in her direction. "Didn't you hear the bell ring? What y'all doing out here?" She asked confused. "Oh, I was letting Quincy borrow my notes for government, you know, because he didn't get them Friday." She got up off of the bench and walked away leaving me confused.
