Lucy P.O.V.

Me? Join the avengers? I wasn't sure what to think. I had never thought of myself as the hero type. For years I had worked hard to keep my powers a secret. I hadn't told anyone, with the exception of Hydra and my mom.
After years of hiding it, I had eventually told my mother. I had thought about how to tell her for a long time, but it didn't make it any easier.
At first she didn't believed me, but after demonstrating my powers for her, she did.
She had also agreed to keep it a secret.
The thought of using my powers daily for other people was a strange one.
"Well, what do you think Feld?" Fury asked. I still hadn't answered his question yet.
"I don't know," I confessed. "I'm not really the hero type."
"We can teach you to be the hero type," he answered.
I thought about it. I really didn't feel ready for this hero business. Hydra had always told me that S.H.I.E.L.D. was bad. At the time, I had believed them. They had helped me through a hard time.
I knew Hydra really was the bad guy though. I had learned that later on when my powers started to get stronger.
I wasn't really sure I wanted to work with S.H.I.E.L.D. either though. Sure they were the good guys most of the time, but they still had there dark secrets.
I reached a decision. I just wanted to go home.
I looked up at Fury and said, " Look, I'm sorry, but I really don't think that the avengers are right for me. Like I said, I'm not  the hero type."
Fury stared at me for several minutes in silence. It got really awkward, with his one eye staring at me. I wondered what had happened to it. Sadly I had already agreed not to read his mind, and I'm not really one to break promises.
Finally when it got so bad I couldn't stand it, he said, "I was afraid it would come to that."
He touched his ear piece and said, "Send Rogers in."
Uh-oh. That wasn't going to be good. The last time I had seen Rogers I had stabbed him in the leg.
The steel door opened and in walked Rogers.
He was wearing a leather jacket and jeans. Simple, but still nice looking.
I hadn't realized how good looking he was before. I guess you don't pay attention to those things when your trying to escape from S.H.I.E.L.D.
He walked over to me and stuck out his hand. "Captain Steven Rogers, or Captain America if you prefer," he said.
I wasn't expecting that. I was expecting something more along the lines of , "Hey, you're the girl who stabbed me in the leg. That wasn't very nice," or "Next time you decide to maim someone's leg, make sure they're not a super soldier."
After recovering from my shock, I said, "Lucy Feld, nice to meet you,"
Fury stood up. "I'll leave you two to talk,"
With that he walked over to the door. It swung open for him. I wondered why it didn't do the same for me.
Steven sat down where Fury had been, grimacing as he did so.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Just my leg. You got it pretty good you know. Damaged a few tendons," he said.
I winced. "Sorry,"
"It'll be better in a couple of days, I heal pretty quickly. I don't blame you too much though. I was pretty scared when I first met S.H.I.E.L.D too," he said.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah," he said. "At least when you woke up it wasn't 70 years later."
That was right. Steve had been asleep for about 70 years, and had woken up to find that the world had completely changed. I definitely was glad that hadn't happened to me.
"Yeah, that would definitely suck," I said.
"It did. But S.H.I.E.L.D. helped me work through it. I was ok in the end."
I nodded, just listening to Steve talk. It was hard to take my eyes off of him. As I mentioned before, he was VERY good looking.
"Lucy, I've done all of the talking so far. Would you mind answering some questions for me," Steve asked.
"Are you going to torture me for information if I don't?" I jokingly asked. Steve didn't cross me as the cruel type.
"I would never hurt a woman," Steve said very seriously. "But if you don't, Fury might send Natasha in to get it out of you."
I wasn't sure if he was joking about the last part or not.
"Natasha... That's Black Widow, right? The assassin?" I said.
"Yeah," said Steve. "You don't want to mess with her. Darn, you keep getting me off track. I can't seem to stay focused around you." He said with a smile.
I smiled back. "Ok, ask me your questions."
"Alright," said Steve. "Why don't you want to join the avengers?"
"I...I'm not really the hero type," I said sadly.
Seeing Steve, and seeing what kind of person he was, I knew I could never be like that. It just wasn't who I was.
"You don't have to be," said Steve. "I mean, look at us. We have a man who dresses up in an iron suit, a demigod, a scientist who turns into a green monster when he's angry, two famous assassins, and a really old man." He smiled at the last part as he mentioned himself. "We're not all the 'hero type', but we're working towards that."
I thought about it. He was right. Maybe this hero business could work out for me. I still wasn't sure though.
Steve seemed to see my doubt.
"Look Lucy, to be honest, I think I speak for me and the rest of the team when I say that we would be honored if you joined the avengers. We could really use someone like you. Alone, we might not be all that great, but together, we can be earth's mightiest heroes.
I looked into Steve's eyes. I could see the sincerity. That was when I made my decision. And there was no way I was going to back out of it. For better or for worse. Besides, who could say no to a face as handsome as his?
"I'll join the avengers."

Authors note: So what did you guys think? Did she make the right choice? Comment below what you think. Also, the video is just a parody of the avengers that a comedy group called studio C made. I thought it was pretty funny so I decided to include it just for kicks and giggles. Thanks for reading!
Until next time,
