Lucy's P.O.V.

Where was I? That was my first thought when I woke up. Then I remembered yesterday's events. I smiled.
What time was it? I looked over at the digital clock on my night stand. 7:34am. Crap. I had less than a half hour before Steve was supposed to be here. There was no way I could let him see me like this.
I quickly got out of bed. Why hadn't I set an alarm? Of course I had forgotten to do that before I went to bed.
I walked into the bathroom and turned on the water and took off my clothes. I had a small wardrobe in my room with several outfits, including a pair of pajamas that fit me perfectly. It kind of scared me how prepared S.H.I.E.L.D. had been.
When the water was warm I hopped in. It felt really good to take a shower after yesterday's events. I still had a hard time not laughing when I thought of Thor and pop tarts. I knew it had ticked off Fury, but it was still funny.
And then there was Steve. He was such an incredible guy. I really liked him. I hoped that even if he didn't return my affections, we could at least be friends.
I wasn't really into dating. I had only gone on a handful of dates since Him. I couldn't even think his name. It had hurt so bad when I found out that He had sworn his allegiance to Hydra.
I couldn't think about Him this morning though. I had things to do, and a meeting to attend. What would the meeting be on anyway?
After I had washed off I got out and wrapped my towel around me. I went over to my wardrobe and picked out a dark pair of jeans and a yellow blouse. They were both the right size. Creepy.
I got dressed then went back to the bathroom to blow dry my hair. It takes me a while to do that, because my hair is so long. It may seem a bit old fashioned or childish, but I like it that way.
After I was done I only had five minutes left so I decided to leave it down.
I walked back over to my wardrobe and found a pair of combat boots. Nice.
I put on a pair of socks and the boots, then I heard a knock at the door. Perfect timing.
I opened my door and smiled when I saw Steve. He was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans. He looked amazing as usual.
Was that cologne I could smell? I didn't remember that from yesterday. It smelled great though.
"Hey Lucy," he said.
"Hi Steve," I said.
"Ready to go?" He asked.
"Yep," I said.
We started to walk down the hallway, and he said, "You look nice today," then he hesitated, like he wasn't sure if he meant for that to come out.
"Uh, thanks, you do too," I said.
He smiled and I smiled back.
When we came to a corner, we met up with Tony, who looked like he hadn't slept at all.
"Are you ok Tony?" I asked. "You don't look like you slept at all."
"I'll be fine after I get some coffee," he said. "I was up late last night talking to Pepper, you know, the love of my life." he said looking at Steve.
I could have sworn Steve was going to punch him, but he didn't.
It wasn't too long before we reached the cafeteria. It was set up buffet style, so I quickly filled up my plate. I sat down at a table, and Steve joined me.
"Are you sure you can eat all of that?" He asked after he had sat down. He had too plates loaded with food himself.
"Yes," I replied. "Are you sure you can eat all of that?" I asked as I gestured to his two plates.
"Yeah," he replied. My metabolism is 4x faster than a regular human, so I usually eat a ton to keep up with it."
"Makes sense," I say.
"Morning Capsicles, Lucy," Tony says as he sits down with us and he takes a sip from his coffee.
"Lucy, we need to figure out a superhero name for you," Tony says.
"Why?" I ask.
"Because everyone has one here," Tony says.
"Thor doesn't," Steve says.
"True, but the name Thor alone is enough to make people tremble. But with the name Lucy, you can't really be like, 'we have Lucy' and expect our enemies to tremble in fear." Tony said.
"Well what would we call me?" I ask.
"I don't know,"Tony said. "What about pretty or cute?" He winked at Steve, and Steve's face went red.
"I think Steve likes me," I thought.
"Well, neither of those sends people trembling in fear either," I say.
"Good morning everyone!" Thor says as he joins us. His plate was filled with, you guessed it, pop tarts.
"What are we discussing this fine morning?" Thor asks.
"How can you be so loud and obnoxious 24/7 Thor?" Tony asks.
"I do not know," Thor replied.
"Maybe it's all the pop tarts," I said.
Everyone laughed, except for Thor, who looked confused.
"I'm afraid I do not understand your joke," Thor said frowning.
"That's ok," I said.
"Well look who's out of his nest," Tony said as Clint, or Hawkeye, walked over to us.
"Yeah I kind of got hungry," Clint said.
I smiled. This was going to be an awesome day if I got to spend it with all of them.

...

"Take a seat everyone," Fury said as we all walked into the meeting room.
"Feels like I was just here a couple of hours ago," Tony joked.
"It was only a couple of hours ago," Thor said.
"Remind me to teach you sarcasm sometime," Tony said.
After we had all sat down, Fury said, "Feld, would you please stand up and introduce yourself?" So much for sitting down.
I stood up. "Hello, I'm Lucy Feld. I'm 23 years old and I live in Manhattan, New York, or at least I used to. My mom is Edna Feld, and I never knew my father."
I stop, not sure if I should say anything else.
"Tell them what you can do," Fury says.
Oh yeah. That tiny detail. They might want to know that.
""Well the best way to describe it is probably to say I'm psychic. My abilities include being able to predict the future, having an omnipotent knowledge of everything,  and reading minds."
"Wait, are you reading our minds right now?" Tony asked.
"Uh no," I said. "But considering the fact that it takes me approximately ten seconds to get into someone's head, I have access to all of your minds by now."
"That's nice," Bruce said.
"I wouldn't do that without your permission though," I say.
"Alright, sit down Feld," Fury says. "Now we're going to go around the room and when it's your turn I want you to stand up and introduce yourself, starting with Lucy's right."
I looked to my right to see Steve. Why is it that we always end up sitting together?
"Hello, I'm Captain Steven Grant Rogers. I served in World War II but was frozen in ice until recently. I specialize in hand-to-hand combat and my favorite weapon is my shield," Steve said.
Clint was up next, and after him Natasha went, then Bruce, Tony, Agent Coulsen, Agent Hill, and then of course Thor.
I had already known who they all were, so I kind of spaced out their introductions. After that Fury stood up.
"I'm Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. I've been with S.H.I.E.L.D for a long time. I'm married to my job."
Not surprised there.
"I think that finishes up everything, so you can all leave except for Lucy," Fury said.
Great.
Everyone stood up to leave, but me and Steve stayed sitting.
"Rogers, you're excused," Fury said.
"Yes sir," Steve replied. Then looking at me, he said, "I'll see you later Lucy."
"Bye," I said.
"Bye," he repeated.
Then he left.
After he was gone, Fury said, "Is there anything going on between you two?"
"No sir," I blushed.
"Ok. Anyway, I need you to sign this," he said as he handed me a small stack of papers.
"What is this?" I asked.
"It's your contract to be an avenger," Fury answered.
I skimmed through it. I wanted to know exactly what I was agreeing to.
"What's the part about the reserve avengers?" I asked.
"That's a list of people who would join our team in an emergency, or replace someone if one of the avengers died," Fury said.
I looked over the list of names. I recognized a couple of the superhero names, like Scarlet Witch, Falcon, and Vision.
The last page was interesting. It stated that I would not read any of the S.H.I.E.L.D employee minds without permission from Director Fury himself. It also said that I would inform Fury of any predictions or knowledge I had that could be useful to the team, regardless if it was personal or not.
I felt like this was against my rights as a US citizen, but I signed it anyway.
After I handed it back to Fury he said, "Let's have Bruce run those tests now."

...

I looked away as Bruce stuck the needle in my arm. I had never been a fan of those. Then again, who actually liked needles?
I took a calming breath. As long as I didn't look, I should be fine.
It took longer than the last time I had blood drawn, but that was probably because they were taking like a dozen vials.
After he was done, I jokingly asked, "Are you sure you got enough there?"
"I think so," said Bruce. "I'll let you know if I need more though."
So far I hadn't really liked all of the testing. It had started off simple enough with my weight and blood pressure, but then they made me pee in a cup, which was really gross, and then Bruce drew about half my body's blood supply. Not fun.
"One more thing," Bruce said. "Open your mouth."
I complied and Bruce swabbed my cheek with a cotton ball.
"What's that for?" I asked.
"DNA sample," Bruce replied.
Oh right. My father.
"I think we're finished up here," Bruce said.
I hopped off the examination table and grabbed my map off of the chair.
Fury had given me a map of the base after I had signed my contract. He had also told me I was allowed to use the training room now, and he told me that I already had a locker in the locker room with training clothes.
I looked down at the map. I guess that meant it was time to hit the gym.

Author's Note: I'm not to happy with this chapter, hopefully it was ok. What kind of training do you think Lucy will do? Comment below what you think.
Until next time,
