Steve's P.O.V.
I thought about Lucy the whole time I walked down to the meeting. For some reason I couldn't stop thinking about her. I wasn't sure why. Sure she was beautiful, but I had met plenty of beautiful women in my life time. To be honest, I hadn't thought of a woman this much since Peggy.
Peggy. Boy did I miss her. I still wished that we could have spent our lives together. It wasn't fair, but war is never fair.
There was Lucy now though. I still wasn't sure exactly how I felt about her. It was similar to how I had felt about Peggy, but at the same time it was different.
I reflected back to what I had said earlier.
"Anything for you, Lucy," I said.
She smiled as I walked away and shut the door.
Stupid. So stupid. She probably thought I was crazy. After all, I had just met her, and she had stabbed my leg.
When I had walked into her holding room, I had been ready to give her a piece of my mind. Something about the way she had looked at me though had stopped me and I instantly forgave her.
"Hey Steve," Doctor Banner said as he joined me on my way to the meeting room.
"Hello Bruce," I said.
"Headed down to the meeting?" He asked.
"Yep," I said.
"So what do you know about Lucy?" He asked. "Weren't you the one who gave her the tour?"
"Yeah I was," I said. "She seemed pretty nice."
"Is she cute?" Bruce asked.
I tried to conceal my feelings. If only Bruce new.
"I guess you could say that," I replied coolly.
Bruce studied my face. "You like her!" He exclaimed.
"What makes you think that?" I ask nervously.
"It's written all over your face," he says with a smirk.
"Is it that obvious?" I sigh. "Please don't tell Tony. He'll never let me hear the end of it."
"Your secret is safe with me," Bruce says with a smile.
"So how are you and Natasha?" I ask. After we destroyed Ultron, I noticed that Bruce and Natasha had gotten a lot closer. I wasn't sure how close, but I had accidentally found them kissing one time.
"Same as usual," Bruce said. "I love her, but that woman can be hard to understand sometimes."
I nodded. Why did women have to be so complicated?
We stopped in front of the meeting room, and we both walked in.
Clint, Natasha and Thor were already in there, as well as Fury, Agent Coulson, and Agent Hill.
I had to admit, I was a little surprised by Agent Hill's behavior earlier. When I had brought Lucy to meet with Fury, she had acted very coldly to her.
Of course, Agent Hill doesn't trust very easily.
Fury and Coulson were discussing something, and Clint and Natasha appeared to be having a casual conversation.Everyone else was silent.
At 9 o'clock everyone grew silent in anticipation of the meeting, but Tony still wasn't here yet. He's always late.
Finally after five minutes Fury said, "Where the heck is Stark?"
No one said anything.
"He does know we have a meeting at 9, right?" Fury asked.
"I reminded him in the lab today," Bruce said.
"I'm here!" Tony announced as he walked into the room. "Now the party can begin."
"Would you mind explaining why your late Stark?" Fury asked.
"Sorry, I was busy," Tony said.
"With what?" Fury asked.
"Oh, nothing important," Tony said.
"Then why were you busy with it?"
"You know, we could continue this conversation all night long, or we could start the meeting," Tony answered as he sat down next to Bruce.
"Well now that we're all here," Fury paused to glare at Tony. "Let's begin this meeting. As most of you know, last night we captured a gifted individual, Lucy Feld."
Last night. That seemed so long ago. Of course, my leg was still a reminder that it hadn't been that long ago. Bruce had stitched it up for me, but it still hurt.
"She is psychic, which means can predict the future, knows almost everything, and she can read minds. She has also agreed to help us by joining the avengers, but her past still presents a problem. In the past, she has worked with Hydra. She has told us most of it, but not all of it. Now the question is, how much do we trust her?"
"I like Lucy!" Thor boomed.
"Thor!" Everyone said as they covered their ears.
"Right, sorry," Thor said as his voice level dropped. "I think Lucy is a great person, and should be trusted."
"I can agree with that," I say, surprised to hear my own voice. I hadn't been planning on saying anything yet.
"I think that Lucy can be trusted. I spent a lot of time with her today, and I think she's a good person," I said.
"Ooh, how much time Capsicle? Getting personal are we?" Tony says.
I fight to control the blush risking to my cheeks. "Not like that Tony," I say. "Just showing her around and stuff."
"Are you sure?" Tony asks.
"That's enough Stark!" Fury growls. "Let Rogers finish."
"Anyways, like I was saying, I think we can trust her. She hasn't told us everything yet, like you said sir," I say looking up at Fury, who nods. "So I don't think we should tell her everything yet either. I think that if we trust her though, she'll trust us, and eventually tell us everything," I finish.
"Ok, thank you Rogers," Fury says. "Anyone else?"
"I don't think we can trust her," Agent Hill says. "I mean, think about it. She's psychic. How do we know she won't access S.H.I.E.L.D.'s information, then share it with Hydra? She has helped them in the past."
"True," says Fury.
"She is definitely something we have to be careful about," Clint said. "But I think if we play it right this could work out in the end.""I think she could also be useful though," Bruce said. "She could warn us if we were going to be attacked, or help us strategize."
"I agree with Bruce and Maria," Natasha said. "She could be very useful, but she could also be dangerous. We need to ensure that she's on our side. We also need to make sure she doesn't access thinks she's not supposed to. And, just out of curiosity, what are here fighting skills?"
"Good question," said Fury. "She's no incredible fighter as far as we know, but Hydra did train her, so I imagine she has some fighting skills. One disadvantage is in the field she may need some protection, but I think the advantages out weigh the disadvantages. Anyone else?"
"She sounds like a valuable team member," Coulson said. "I think she will be a great asset."
"Alright. Stark, you've been awfully quiet. What's your thoughts?"
"Well first of all, may I say that she is very good looking," Tony stared, and I about punched him. What was it with this guy and women?
"I agree with the others that she's useful, blah blah blah. My question is, how did she get her powers?"
"We don't know that," Fury said. "And I don't think Hydra or Lucy herself knows that either. In Hydra's file for her it just had 'Unknown' written in for her power origins. Her father was also marked as unknown, so I suggest we start there. Bruce has agreed to do some DNA tests to try and figure it out."
"I'll do them first thing tomorrow morning, after our next meeting," Bruce said.
Tony groaned, "Why do we have to have so many meetings?"
"Don't complain Stark, it could be a lot worse you know," Fury said.
"I do not know if this is a good time to mention this or not, but we are out of pop tarts," Thor said.
"Didn't I just buy you like fifty boxes last week?" Tony asked.
"Yes you did, man of iron, but I am now out of them," Thor said.
"Why don't you tell everyone how many you blew up earlier, Thor?" Fury asked.
"Eighteen delicious pop tarts," Thor reported.
"You blew up pop tarts?" Clint laughed but quickly stopped when Fury gave him a look.
"I think we've reached a conclusion," Fury said. "We will trust Lucy until she gives us a reason not to."
"I think you'll regret that," Maria said. "She can do too many things without us knowing about it."
"Exactly, which is why I'm going to have her sign an agreement, saying that she won't access any of S.H.I.E.L.D's information without my consent. She will also have zero contact with Hydra. If she does either of those things, she will no longer be a member of this team, and will be locked up." Fury finished. "Unless anyone else has something they'd like to say, I think this meeting is over."
I stood up along with everyone else and started to walk back to my room. Tony stopped me though.
"Just so you know Capsicles, you and Lucy would make a cute couple. If you need my help with expressing your feelings, let me know," he said with a smirk.
"Even if I did have feelings for her, Tony, I don't think I'd want your help," I said.
"Ok, let me know if you change your mind," Tony said walking away.
I started to walk again. There was no way I was going to tell Tony about my feelings. He wouldn't be able to keep it a secret.
Maybe I could ask Natasha though. She was a girl after all. She could probably help me.
When I got back to my room, I went to bed quickly. I had a hard time sleeping though. I couldn't stop thinking about Lucy.
I was really excited to spend another day with her. Who knew, maybe I'd even ask her out on a date.Author's note: Yay! Steve's P.O.V.! Did you like it? I'll probably mainly use Lucy's P.O.V., but Loki's and Steve's as well. I am planing on adding Loki later on, after I developed Lucy and Steve's relationship some. Comment below if you have any other P.O.V.s you'd really like me to do.
Until next time,
~Emma
