Picture of Ava and Barry^
Hi! It's me again! It's Ava's turn to speak now! Yays! I don't really know what to say in this one. Stevie told me she was mad at me for my last intro paragraph, so I'm not going to spoil anything in this one. Maybe. Ow! Stevie be nice. You weren't being nice, you just hit me. Yes you did. Macy! Make Stevie stop hitting me! Okay. Good. Thank you Macy. Just for that I shall spoil something. Ah! Kidding, kidding. Macy! Thank you. Again. I'm gonna start telling the story now. Since we didn't get to talk about every thing before Macy, Gracie, and Kim had to leave we had all planned to go to Lilli's house after weights and practice in the morning the next day. We had to wait until after the boys got done with football practice.
Chad pulled into our driveway. I was walking back from collecting eggs from our chicken coop, while dodging our huge German Shepard, Jaeger. "Need some help?" he asked, smiling broadly and slamming the door shut. Jaeger heard it and sprinted towards Chad. "No. Ugh. Muddy paws. No." Chad groaned, pushing Jaeger off him. He brushed off the muddy paw prints covering his shirt. "Ready to go?" he asked.
I nodded, "Just let me put these inside." I walked into the house and put the eggs in their container then walked back out to where Chad was standing by his car. I climbed in the passenger seat and he drove me to Lilli's house. I climbed out of his car and knocked on Lilli's door. I was the first one there, besides Jim and Davis. When I walked in Jim was laying on the floor and Davis and Hannah were sitting awkwardly on the couch together. We waited for a few minutes as everyone else showed up. Max and Taylor, who we thought were the last ones, knocked on the door, and Lilli got up to let them in. Davis looked around and asked, "Is everyone here?" I did a head count, thirteen. One was missing.
"Kim's not here." Jim noted.
Davis turned to him and smiled, "Of course you would notice that." Jim shook his head and glared at his older brother.
"She gets distracted easily." Stevie spoke up in her defense. "Especially this morning." She pulled out her phone to text Kim, "And she's not answering her phone." We heard a rumbling out side. It stopped, and there was the slam of a car door, then the doorbell rang. Lilli got up to answer it and Kim was standing there, wearing the same thing as this morning, but her legs covered in dirt up to her knees.
"Sorry. I got Kyle's truck stuck in the field." She said coming in and sitting down on the floor.
"How?" Taylor asked. Kim just shrugged.
"Anyways," Davis clapped and rubbed his hands together, "We need to figure out what Gracie, Macy, and Kim are. Barry?" Davis turned to Barry, who was looking through his bag. He pulled out the vial of iron filings from last night and walked up to Gracie.
"This might hurt, but it shouldn't too bad," he tapped a tiny amount of iron on to her hand, and immediately it started to burn, same with Macy. "Both fairie. Although not surprising since you're twins." Kim's hand didn't seem to be effected by the iron filings, even after ten minutes. Barry brushed the iron off her hand. It was just a little pink. "Hm. Just a tiny bit of fairie blood," Barry looked at Davis and added, "Probably why we haven't noticed her eyes change yet." Davis nodded.
"Have we figured out their powers?" Davis turned to Jim.
Max spoke up now, "Taylor is animals. That squirrel has been following her around all day."
Davis nodded, "Anyone else?"
Dixon raised his hand, "Stevie is water. She sneezed and soaked my jacket this morning." Jim looked at him smiling. "I swear to God, Jim if you say anything I will kill you."
Jim's smiled widened, "Are you sure her sneezing is the reason you're wet?"
Augustus smiled now, "Yeah. Like, watching her lift weights this morning. Or your drive home, or here, with her." Dixon slapped himself in the forehead while Augustus and Jim high-fived.
"Jim. Augie. Why?" Barry shook his head and rubbed his face. Jim and Augustus smiled brightly at him. Barry groaned and shook his head again. I took a sip of water from my water bottle.
Jim smiled again, "Why you groaning Barry? Berry straw in a bind."
Barry slapped his forehead and rubbed his face, moaning "Stop."
"That's what she said." Davis said absentmindedly. I spit my water out, and Stevie fell off of the couch. Macy was hunched over laughing.
Sam walked in from the bathroom to Augustus smiling, and Barry shaking his head. "What happened?" Then he saw Jim laughing, "Never mind. I don't want to know."
"Why?" I asked, finally able to talk.
"Because I like to see my friends suffer!" Jim said suffer quietly, "Like this." He walked to the couch and took the only open seat besides the one Gracie was sitting next to. Sam stood in the middle of the room. He was walking towards the seat Jim had taken. He looked at Jim, Jim smiled in return and looked at Gracie. Sam looked back and forth between the two of them several times, then plopped down on the floor. Davis smiled at Jim. "What?" He looked around, then at Kim. He had taken the seat next to her, although she didn't seem to be paying attention. Jim glared at Davis.
"I'm pretty sure I'm plants," Kim said looking up. "Every time I step on dirt or the grass a flower grows." She poked her dirt covered leg and a tiny tulip sprouted and wrapped its roots around her leg. "And I can't wash this dirt off. It's not that I haven't tried, it won't come off." Macy leaned leaned over and scraped some dirt off with her fingernail. She looked at it then at Kim. Kim nodded at her, "It's weird."
"Macy is electricity. Or something like that." Augustus said, "Every time we touch a spark zaps between us." He poked her lightly and a spark jumped between the two. Macy jumped and slapped him, while he smiled slightly.
