Picture of Lilli^
Hi I'm Lilli. Hold on a second. Kim! This feels weird. Do I have to do it? Dang. Ok then. Anyways. I'm Lilli, and as you learned last chapter, at least I think it was the last chapter, I'm a shifter, so the battle didn't phase me one bit. I can't say so for the others though. Ava was a little worse for wear, and it took a while to explain everything to Taylor and Stevie. We spent several hours just explaining things, and trying to figure out what everyone was. The only problem was that the ones that it was hardest to explain to, weren't there. We were still in the boy's living room, trying to explain everything to Taylor.
"So. If they're all fairies or something, what am I?" Taylor asked, "You said I'm an elf, but they're short."
"Not the Christmas elves, the elves like JRR Tolkien's or the Celtic and Nordic elves. They are tall, and strong, representing forces in nature, they're kinda like fairies, but less sparkles, more swords and knives. I'm talking about Nordic light elves, not dark elves. There haven't been any of those seen in our part of Nassir that we lived in since the dark ages for you guys. Dark elves are what you consider dwarves, and those live under ground." Jim answered. We stared at him. He blinked and made a face. "Brain vomit. Now I need a marshmallow." He said walking into the kitchen.
Davis started laughing. I looked at him questioningly. "He reads. Constantly. Especially mythology, and ancient Nassir history." I nodded. "It's also why he already knew what lineage all of them have. Kinda. He's also a creep that stares at people, especially Kim." Jim walked into the room, threw a marshmallow at Davis and walked back out. Davis blinked when the marshmallow bounced off his nose. Ava and Taylor laughed, we knew that we could use that to tease Kim someday. She constantly teased us about guys. "And they're not all fairie either. Some of you might be, but not all of you. I'd say that Macy and Gracie are full fairie, but those two," he pointed at Ava and Stevie, "and Kim are some combination of fairie blood and other."
Jim walked back in the room and threw another marshmallow at Davis. Davis opened his mouth and caught it. Barry laughed and mumbled, "Fail." Jim threw another marshmallow at Barry. He fumbled to catch it with his hands and dropped it on the floor. Jim smiled and laughed. Max bent over and picked up that marshmallow on the floor. Barry spoke up now. "One way to tell if they're human, elf or full fairie." He reached into his bag and pulled out a small vial of a grey powder. "They're iron shavings. Iron will burn a fairie, irritate an elf and do nothing to a human." He walked up to Ava. "If they hurt you, tell me, I'll heal it for you."
Ava gave Barry her hand he took it and tapped the vial so that a tiny amount of shavings dropped on her hand. "This amount of iron will take a few a few minutes to do anything to your skin." He said moving on to Stevie. "If after five minutes it does nothing, then you're most likely human." He put a small amount on Stevie and Taylor's hands. I watched Ava's hand, after a minute she started to look uncomfortable. Barry looked at her. I watched him move, and how he seemed to sense danger. He was some kind of herd animal I guessed. He looked at Ava's hand and brushed the iron back into its vial. The skin was red, and a blister was starting to form.
"That wasn't as fast as a pure fairie would've burnt, but I'd say you're half fairie, at least. I'd assume the other half is elf, if it were human you wouldn't have gotten burnt so bad so fast." Next Taylor started to get uncomfortable. Barry brushed the iron off her hand, the skin was red, "Does it itch?" Barry asked. Taylor nodded. "Elf." He said shortly. The last to have effect was Stevie. After five minutes Barry brushed the iron off her hand, it was just a little red, that's it. "Mage. A tiny bit of fairie blood, but that's it." He walked back to his bag and put the vial back in it.
Max walked up to Stevie. "Joining good company." He said and gave her a high five. Then Max turned to Barry. "If iron will burn most species in Nassir, why do you have it in your healing pack?"
Barry shrugged, "You never know when you'll need to poison someone. It's easier to poison a fairie with iron, because they can't sense it, and, depending on the type of fairie, they might know most or all plant poisons."
Sam nodded, "You scare me sometimes dude." He mumbled staring at the bag, "Especially since now I know you have stuff that can kill me in your medicine bag."
Barry laughed, "I would never poison you. Purposely." Sam gulped. "Don't get on my bad side." Barry said ominously. Sam smiled and laughed nervously. "Nah, I'm just kidding." Barry laughed, then added, "Maybe." Sam sat there nervously studying Barry, trying to see if he was joking.
"Leave Sam alone." Jim said patting him on the back. "He can't help it if he's so short that everyone picks on him." Jim smiled and tried to dodge away when Sam tried to slap him. He jumped back, ran into the table, and somehow ended up on the floor.
"Leave him alone," Davis paused, "Jimmy." Jim groaned when he heard the childish name. Davis clapped, "Okay. Now we need to get serious. Who's gonna train the girls?" Dixon immediately raised his hand. "Do you really think it's a good idea for you to train your girlfriend. Don't you think you'd get a little distracted?"
Dixon pointed at Davis and said, "Yes, but, she's got water powers, and I've got ice. I could train her to use those powers, because we're both water elements. Kinda."
Davis blinked at his answer then responded, "We'll wait till tomorrow to figure that stuff out." He looked at his phone, "Dad's gonna be home soon. You need to leave soon." The girls walked out of the room, but he stopped me. I noticed how well he controlled the group and it hit me, he's a tribal leader, maybe a bear, or dragon if they lived in Nassir. "Are all you guys free tomorrow? Meet here? Or at your house maybe?"
I nodded, "My house would work, I'll call everyone over, but the earliest we could all meet is probably around ten, Kim has to work, Ava has cross country practice, and Stevie has weights."
Davis nodded back, "Jim, Dixon, and I have weights, Barry has cross country, and Max and Augustus do some weird shit in the morning." I nodded, turned and went into my car.
