Lay beside Me

We were running for so long. All I remember is leaving that place and heading straight for the valley in front of us. We thought it was a downhill path but it cut off short and we fell 10 feet. Tucker landed hard on his ankle and I landed on my broken wrist and the bone was right under my skin. Tucker couldn't run anymore so I had to help him shuffle.

We heard the men coming and ducked behind a big rock. Tucker ripped off his jacket hood and manufactured a cast for my wrist for the time being.

I heard voices and we silenced. The voices got closer and I saw shadows moving behind us. They moved away and I was about to breathe when I saw it. A scorpion. It was as big as the broken sole on Tucker's show and he had big feet. I gasped a little and Tucker looked in the direction I was; right next to my bandaged hand lying on the ground. He mouthed not to move. I nodded.

Tucker slowly moved to get his shoe. Then it happened. Like a flash of lightning, the scorpion's poisonous stinger shot at my hand and succeeded at striking it's target. Me. I yelled. I've never felt pain like that.

As soon as I did, I regretted it. The fat man and at least 7 guys appeared out from behind the rock. The color drained from our faces and we looked at each other for the last time. The man pulled out a hand gun and the other men aimed theirs. This was the end. The fat man whistled and one of his henchman shot the gun. I didn't feel anything so I looked at Tucker. Blood was splattered on his shirt and face where the bullet entered. The wound was right below his windpipe. I saw the blood gushing out of it like a baking soda volcano. I started crying. Tucker looked at me with the eyes I fell in love with and smiled. His hand lightly grazed my cheek before falling lifelessly on the rocky sand. I hung my head. I was done. There was nothing to fight for now.

I was going to die........

I turned to look at the man that just murdered the man I loved and he bent down to my eye level. His hand raised and wiped the tears off my cheeks. Laying the gun on the ground, he sat in front of me. He was and inch from my face. I could smell the smoke on his breath. He grabbed my face and forced his mouth to invade mine. I cried harder and struggled to get away before he spit a liquid into my mouth. Vodka and.......blood?

What the hell?

This guy drinks blood? He pulls back to the inch he was away from my face. He leans in again, I flinch and wait but instead of releasing more disgusting fluid into my mouth, he was next to my ear.

"I had fun with you..." He said.

Before letting go of me, a silver knife slid across my throat and I was on the ground. I was dizzy and all I could see was a blurry shadow of the man and I could feel Tucker's hand beside mine. I grabbed it as I began choking on the warm blood escaping my throat. The tears slid across my face. I stared coughing and gagging.I felt a sudden jolt of pain and then heat. Gun fire. I was fading fast. Another shot, three, four, five. Six. That was the last one I felt before everything went black. Finally. I was dead. Now I can be with Tucker......forever
