Right, left, right, left, repeat. Another routine. At least it wouldn't last much longer. Only a few more blocks. He wanted it so badly it was physically paining him. He opened the doors to the drugstore, passing from the sticky, moist August air into the cool, air conditioned building. He breathed deeply and began to make his way to the medicines. He saw just the bottle he needed. He reached out--
"Gerard?" said a familiar voice. He whirled around.
"Frank?" he said in return. "What were you doing here?" He pushed his greasy, fading orange hair out of his eyes, only just realizing he hadn't had the energy to shower for the past few weeks.
"Just getting some Tylenol," said Frank. "Been getting headaches lately." Gerard nodded, trying to seem casual. "Anyway, what were you doing here?"
"Picking up some sleeping pills. I-I've developed a bit of insomnia," Gerard fibbed. Frank nodded awkwardly. "I guess I'll see you around," Gerard said, turning away.
"Wait!" yells Frank, causing an elderly woman to glance over in concern. "I was thinking," he said, lowering his voice, "Do you want to come over to my place? Just to hang out a little?"
"I- Okay," said Gerard, surprised.
"Just like old times?" said Frank with a grin.
"Just like old times."
