And awkward didn't even to begin to explain how Gerard Way felt as he sat tightly on his ex-guitarist, Frank Iero's couch. His back was as stiff as a board, while Frank seemed comfortable as he lounged with a beer in one hand and the TV controller in the other. Gerard hadn't touched his beer, and it was left open on the table, getting warm.
"So..." said Frank after a while, setting down his empty beer bottle. "You want to do something?"
"Like what?" replied Gerard.
"I dunno, maybe get dinner or something." Gerard jumped in surprise.
"Frank Anthony Iero Jr., did you just ask me out on a dinner date?" Frank half smiled.
"Maybe."
"I accept the invitation." Gerard turned his head away and bit his bottom lip. He hoped Frank hadn't seen him blush.
"Good."
"I'm gonna have to get ready. Where are we going?"
"Someplace fancy," Frank said with a small grin. "Bill's on me."
