"So when do you think he'll wake?"

Lulu, our tribe's young, yet skilled, healer examines Jay, who is out cold on the bed, after I knocked him out in the freezer back at the pizza place. Mandy wasn't too happy with that. The only reason she didn't rip my head off was because she didn't want to deal with "magic drama" which is understandable considering all the crap she's been through already.

Lulu let out a small sigh. "I dunno," she says, "you hit him pretty hard. He'll probably be out for a while...."

"Great..." I say as I look away.

"You could try waking him yourself," Lulu suggests, "but considering what you told me about what happened, that might not be the best idea. We don't know how he'll react when he wakes up. Forcing him awake might just make it worse."

"You're very wise Lu." John says.

"Couldn't we just chain him to the bed?" I suggest.

"Rikki, this is a healing house, not a torture chamber" Lulu states.

"We have a torture chamber." I smirk.

Lulu narrows her eyes, "Rik," she sighs in defeat, "you do what you want," she says, "just make sure John's okay with it first." she turns and leaves the house.

I watch her leave then look at John. "No." he says, knowing what I was going to ask.

I roll my eyes and laugh. "I'm kidding." I look at Jay, "So... so what do we do? Just wait?" I glance at John. He has his, what one would call, "thinking face" on. "Oh? You have an idea?'' I grin.

"Well it may not be the safest idea, but there's not much else we can do." John says. I tilt my head. "We could do is try to conceal his powers. "He looks at me, "do we have any of those bracelets left?"

I stare at him with shock. "W-wait, are you serious?" I ask.

"You have a better idea?"

"Er..." I hesitate. "I'll go check..." I say.

John nods. He sighs and looks at Jay. "I'll stay here just in case he wakes up." he says. I nod and exit the house. Now, I think as I look around at everyone doing their everyday routine, where'd we put them? I walk over to the old supply house to look. The room is filled with crates and things all holding various items whether it be old training weapons, extra clothes, and other knickknacks.

"Wow we really need to organize." I mutter to myself as I rummage through boxes and cabinets. I have no luck in finding any of the bracelets. I'm sure we kept at least one or two of those things. Yeah they're a bit...dangerous, but we wouldn't have thrown them all out. Would we? I groan impatiently and slam a cabinet shut.

"Rik?"

I nearly jump out of my skin at the sudden voice. I whip around the face the newcomer. They hold their hands up defensively. "Whoa, take it easy" the person says as they walk towards me so I could see their face more clearly.

The person happens to be Ben, a young boy, older than me but still young, with slightly tanned skin, dirty blond hair, and forest green eyes. He has a satchel over his shoulder filled with various potions and other medical things. He is Lulu's apprentice. Though she is a year younger than him, she perfected her healing powers before him which makes her more qualified to be his mentor as well as the main healer. Ben usually takes her place when she is unable to.

"Ugh, damn it Ben!" I snap at him, "don't sneak up on me like that!"

Ben lets out a small laugh. "My apologies, Rik"
