"Alright everyone what do we want to eat?" I call out to the group of about seven people. I decided to invite Tay and Maison to our meal. I wanted to invite Sandra but I wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not with all the magic and stuff. I kinda don't want her involved. Neither does Jay probably.
"I want steak." Rikki says.
"Burgers." Tay says.
"Pizza!" both Minka and Leah chime in. Maison cheers in agreement. Tay also agrees with them by saying "same"
I look at everyone. "Pizza then?"
"Sure" John says, "That's fine."
Rikki sighs, "Fine." she crosses her arms.
"Okay." I look at Jay who seems to be spaced out. "Jay?"
Jay snaps out of it and looks at me. "Huh? Oh yeah, sure, pizza's good..." he says.
"Alright," I say, "pizza it is then."
Maison, Tay, Leah and Minka cheer and run off. I roll my eyes and look at the others. "Let's go!" I turn and start to follow the others.
"Are we walking?" John says, "Because I can give us a ride"
I look back at him. "Oh okay." I turn and call to the others, "hey, you all want a ride?" They all stop and look at me. "Uh, is that a no?" I ask.
"How far are we from the closest pizza place?" Maison asks.
"Uh," I pause and think a moment "I don't know..."
"I know where on is!" Minka shouts
"Let's just walk!" Tay says as she continues down the road to the city. Maison looks at her then back at me. He shrugs and follows Tay.
"Guess we're walking." Jay says.
I let out a frustrated sigh.
"You seem stressed." Rikki remarks. I glare at her and threaten to slap her but I stop myself and turn to follow the others.
We finally manage to get to the pizza place after about a thirty minute walk (thanks Tay)
I put my head down on the table for being both tired and stressed after everything that's happened. I seriously need a break from all of this magic crap.
Minka, Leah, Tay and Maison are playing games in the small arcade area. Rikki and her brother, Jonathan, are talking in private at another table. I'm a bit curious as to what they're talking about, but I decide to stay out of it, mostly because I don't feel like getting up and moving closer so I could hear them. I notice Jay and Rex talking about them. They are closer so I'm able to listen in.
"I saw Rowan." Jay says. Curious, I lean in a bit so I could hear better.
"You did?" Rex asks surprised, "when? How?"
"I had this strange dream," Jay says, "everything was white and rowan was there. It felt so real almost as if we were taken to another dimension just to meet each other."
"What? That's weird. How is that possible?" Rex asks.
"Like I said, it was a dream." Jay says, "It probably wasn't even real."
"Was Carson there?" Rex asks.
"No, it was just Rowan," Jay says, "but he said Carson was fine."
"That's good," Rex sighs, "what did Rowan look like?"
"He looked the same just older." Jay says, "That's why I thought it was real." I hear a hint of pain in his voice.
He really misses this rowan person I think to myself. I lean back in my seat and sigh. I hear the little bell to the front door ring. I look up to see who it is.
A middle aged man with dirty blonde hair walks in with a girl, probably his daughter that looks to be about my age. She has dyed pink hair. I 'm a bit jealous of her. My parents refuse to let me dye my hair, not even the tips. They say that it will ruin my hair's "natural beauty".
Jay looks at the girl and smiles. He waves to her. "Hi, Daisy!"
The girl, who I assume is Daisy, looks at Jay. She smiles and goes over to him. "Hi, Jay! What are you doing here?" she says. She looks at Rex and gasps. "Puppy!"
"Daisy!" Daisy's dad calls from the front.
Daisy looks at him. "Yes Daddy?"
He gestures for her to come over, "come pick what you want"
"Okay!" Daisy smiles and puts Rex down on the table. "Be right back!" she says to Jay before running off to her dad.
I glance at Daisy before going over to Jay. I sit across from him. "So, who's your friend?" I say with a hint of teasing.
"Her name is Daisy, if you didn't hear me yelling it," he says, "we met earlier today...I kinda owe her family a new fence." he laughs.
"Not gonna ask." I say. I look at Daisy then lean closer to Jay, "she's kinda cute dontcha think?"
"w-what?"
"Come on, you know you like her." I tease.
His face turns red. He shake his head. "Okay you're leaving."
"OTP-! Wah!" I get cut off when Jay pulls my chair out from under me causing me to fall to the floor.
Daisy comes back and looks at me. "Uh..." she looks at Jay.
Jay smiles at her innocently, "she's fine."
"Evil!" I yell. I stand up and glare at him.
"Is the ground comfortable?" Jay smirks.
"Wanna find out?" I snap at him.
"Please don't fight..." Daisy says.
Jay and I look at her then to each other. I look back at Daisy. "Sorry," I say, "I'll leave you two be." I back away.
"No you can stay I just-" Daisy starts.
"No, no it's fine really," I say, "I'll just be going now." I glance at Jay. He gives me a 'no please stay' look. I grab Rex, "I'll be taking this though" I smile and wave before running off.
"Damn it, Mandy!" Jay calls as I laugh maniacally.
