Chapter 1!

"We need Kendall Hale to come to the office please."

The main office buzzed over the intercom as Mr. Burn's monotone voice carried on about the civil war, I think.

When I walked into the dull office I saw a tall, skinny very pale boy. He turned around and smiled with such perfection. His teeth were like pearls. Each one sparkled as the light hit them. He was wearing a blue and red plaid shirt with faded blue jeans with blue converse. I realized I'd been staring too long so I ran my fingers through my hair trying to hide my face as I blushed.

"Kendall, this is Jesse Grey. He'll be starting next week. I was hoping you could show him around a little so he could get use to the school."

Mrs. Russell said breaking the awkward silence.

I nodded. I tried to speak but it came out a hoarse cough. I looked over to him. Still smiling. I reached for the door handle as Caroline Quinn pushed it open, smacking my hand very hard.

I winced.

"Oops, sorry!" she said with not a trace of sympathy.

"Are you okay?" I wasn't prepared for his soft deep voice. I just stared at him then he smiled. "I guess so."

I blushed, holding my hand close to my stomach.

"So, what school did you transfer from?" I asked trying to avoid anymore awkward silences.

"Kingston."

"And you came to this school because?"

He had a confused look on his face when I eventually looked up.

"I mean Kingston is a really good school. Why did you come all the way down here?"

I guess he realized what I meant because he smiled.

"Dad's job got transferred down here so we all got transferred.

Kingston isn't that great of a school either. They just make it seem that way." he chuckled a little at his own joke.

I nodded, trying not to stare.

I knocked on the door and Mr. George opened it with a sigh.

"Mr. George; this is Jesse Grey, he is going to be in here starting next week."

"Ah, yes." He introduced Jesse to the class and said goodbye.

"He seems nice."

"He can be at times."

Two doors down was his next class. Same thing pretty much in all the other classes too. I introduced him to the teacher, teacher introduced him to the class. I could tell he was hating every minute of it.

One girl wrote down her number and threw at him in paper ball form.

I closed the door to the classroom behind him and he sighed.

"What?"

"That was practically torture. So how many classes do we have together?"

"Uh, I think one or two." I lied. I knew how many. Three.

"You do realize you'll be the main topic for at least a week, right?"

"How is that?"

"Did you not hear the girls giggling?" I said as I grabbed the girls number and shook it in his face.

"Oh." He smiled. "Are you jealous?" he grabbed the paper back and stuffed it into his pocket.

"Me, Jealous? I barely know you." I said blushing.
