[QUOTE FOR CHAPTER]
"Instead of dirt and poison, we have rather chosen to fill our hives with honey and wax, thus furnishing mankind with the two noblest of things, which are sweetness and light."
- Jonathan Swift
-Chapter fourteen-
"Okay, so tell me how this happened?" Natalie walked of the bathroom and sat next to me. I looked at her and shrugged.
"I went over to talk to Neely and he was there. I showed him that list and we started talking. Then we stopped talking and started kissing. Then clothes were thrown off. I freaked out and took off." I threw my hands in the air then scratched my head. Natalie patted my back and made a sighing sound. I fell back on my bed and covered my face with a pillow.
"Kendall. It'll be alright." Natalie slid the pillow off my face and smiled at me.
"Personally I like Drew." I groaned. "Don't remind me."
She jumped off my bed. "Nat, I've tried calling Jesse like a hundred times." I threw my phone to the foot of my bed.
She nodded. "Maybe he just needs some time to think." She always knows what to say. I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, until he finds out I made out with Bryson right after we broke up." Natalie nudged my side.
"Kendall. Quite moping. Things will get better." I smiled at her, trying to be convincing. "I hope you're right."
I jumped up as I remembered Kyle was at Jesse's. "Kyle!" I screamed as I jogged down the stairs. Once I got down to the living room, Kyle was planted in front of the tv. "Kinda busy." I sat next to him on the couch and clung to his arm. He didn't even turn his head, he just stayed focused on playing zombie battle something three.
"This is important bro." Natalie said over my shoulder. He glanced at me hen continued the game. "What?" I didn't go into much details but I summed up that I screwed up and Jesse is mad.
"Actually." He started, still staring at the tv. Natalie popped the back of his head. "On with it."
While rubbing the back of his head he paused the game and turned to me. "He stormed in all pissy and went on about some stupid list.
Then he said some other words. Very violent. And went to his room. Jenny went to talk to him but came back like ten minutes later." He shrugged and went back to his game.
"Natalie, he hates me." I whined on her side. She pushed me off. "What time is it?" She looked at the clock and grabbed my hand. " we are going to get you out of this funk."
She pulled me upstairs into our room. "Sam invited me to a party and you're going." She went into the closet and pulled out a dress with a pink tutu like skirt. "Is this too much? Sam likes me in pink." She smiled at her reflection then turned to me. "No, it's cute."
She dropped her hands to her side. "Get dressed."
"I can't Nat." She stepped into the bathroom and changed. "Why not?" I watched her from the open door as she fixed her hair. "I have a phobia of parties after Quitton."
I pulled a thread from the blanket as I talked. Natalie stepped out of the bathroom and looked at me. "It's not that kind of party. It's more like a date."
I groaned as I roll onto my back. "I'm not going to your date as a third wheel." She pulled my hand, sitting me up.
"A double date."
I gave her a confused look.
"Double?" She rolled her eyes and nodded.
"As in Sam and I."
