[QUOTE FOR CHAPTER]
"A life without love is like a year without summer."
-Swedish Proverb
-chapter sixteen-
What time does it come on?"
Natalie set a glass on the tray I was about to carry. I looked at the clock on the wall and pulled the bag of popcorn from the microwave.
"It should be on in a few minutes."
She set two more glasses on the tray and ran to the living room. I carried the tray into the living room and set it on the small table in front of the couch.
"I still can't believe you're making me watching this." Bryson said as I slumped beside him. I hit his stomach.
"To be supportive." He grabbed a handful of popcorn and stuffed it in his mouth. "Why would I want to be supportive?" He mumbles, spilling chewed popcorn on the couch.
"Because he's a friend of mine." He rolled his eyes as Natalie turned the volume up. We sat in silence as the show started. A tall guy in a suit appears on the screen with a microphone in hand.
"I'm Carter Adams and this is My Band Has Talent!" He waved his hand around to a line of people. There were sixteen groups of people. Third from the last was Jesse and his two friends. "There's Jesse." I pointed to the tv. Natalie hooped and hollered while Bryson rolled his eyes.
Even though Natalie thought I should be with Drew, she liked Bryson and she hung out with us when she wasn't with Sam. They hit the stage where they could go a week without seeing each other and not die.
"Tonight, four bands will show America what they got. You, at home will text or call in your vote for the band that you think has the most talent. That band will move on to the finals and compete with the last two reamaining bands. First up tonight is the all girl band from Hartford Conneticut. Give it up for Death on a Monday!"
He waved his hand to a giant screen. It zoomed up so the whole tv was on the screen. A group of three girls started introducing themselves and talked about their band. After they finished it zoomed out and it focused on a stage where the girls began to perform.
I looked over to Bryson, who was bobbing his head to the song.
He looked over at me, stilling bobbing his head.
"What, I like this song. I like them. Girls who can rock an ACDC song has my vote." He smiled smugly.
He squeezed his arm around me and we continued to watch the girls sing.
"Oh they're good." Natalie said as she reclined the chair she was in. I shook my head.
"Guys, we have to vote for Jesse." Natalie groaned.
"I know, Kendall." She whined with her heavy accent.
Bryson laughed and mocked her. "Yeah I Noooor Kendaaarrll." He said with a smile.
Natalie flipped him off with a sarcastic smile. The girls end their song and a few commercials come on.
"I'm only voting for him because you're forcing me to." Bryson whined. I gave him a pissed off girlfriend look and he shrugged.
"It's true." I smacked his arm and Natalie shushed us. "Look Jesse's group." She pointed to the tv. The tall guy stands on the stage and begins to talk.
"Watch out ladies! This next band is a boy band from Virginia but they aren't your ordinary boy band. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Out of Range."
