-Chapter seven-
Jc must have heard the thump of the football because he suddenly sat up to see where it came from. I was sitting up on my elbows just watching him. Out of no where someone jumped on Jc's back. I jumped up onto my feet and watched as Jc struggled with this tall muscular guy. I tried to help pull this guy off Jc. I thought he was trying to hurt him. Then a shorter guy with brown hair jumped on the pile it scared me I thought they were going to hurt Jc so I jumped at one and pulled him to the ground off of Jc. The guy didn't see me,but elbowed me in cheek as we hit the ground. Connor came running. He helped me up and lifted my hand that was on my cheek.
"Your going to be fine." He was kind of laughing at me. "They are just wrestling its ok." I must of bad a weird look on my face cause he started to explain it to me. "They aren't trying to hurt him. It's just a thing guys do. Haven't you ever wrestled with fr..oh yeah." He looked down at his shoes in embarrassment. "Alright guys are we going to play some football or just fight here?!"
With that the boys got off Jc and they were all laughing. One had lost his shoe and Jc threw it at the tall one hitting him in the stomach which made all of them laugh. Connor gave Jc a hand to get off the ground. He looked at me and his eyes went wide. I was confused what did I do? Then I felt my cheek it stung a little, but it didn't hurt really. "What happened?" he asked.
"Did I elbow you?" one of the boys asked. "I felt something, but I wasn't paying attention. I'm sorry."
"It's fine. I don't really feel anything. I've been hit harder." When I said that I knew it was stupid. "I mean....I....uh..." I was totally blank on what to say.
"I didn't know you had ever been beaten," Jc had said. "I don't know much about you Aria, but they had said you were just out of trail and had no record of beating."
"Well the man who did it didn't register it or even do it in the square. Anyway I'll go get water for you, Jc, for the game." I curtsied and quickly turned away staring at the grass. I walked as fast as I could back into the house and into the kitchen where Arial was sitting reading a book.
She looked at me and shook her head. "Don't ever try to get between them in a wrestling match." I was confused how did she know I had tried to stop them? "I saw it out the window. Now sit and I'll get you some ice." She got up and headed to the freezer.
"I didn't know who they were, Arial. If I had I wouldn't have tried." I put my head down in shame.
"Now, now. It's alright the boys don't mind a thing like That. The one that hit you was Kian and the other is Ricky. And now you know not to get in the way of them again." She lifted my head and carefully put the ice on my cheek. She handed me the bag and washed her hands. "I saw Jc talking to you out there. I should tell you he has never talked to any other servant in such a laid back way. You must be a special one."
As she said this I instantly turned red and started to think of what we talked about. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary I mean wouldn't any owner like to know some details about their servants? And I'm sure he has talked to other servants in that laid back way before she just never noticed. I questioned the entire conversation I didn't understand what she meant by 'special.' I'm not special. I'm just another girl who has to work for men. Another girl that dreams of doing other things. A girl who wants to find love and escape from this hell. I'm not special at all!
