Raquel POV
When Louise received the letter, I took it as an opportunity to read the note. Quickly, I opened it and on it was messy, boyish handwriting. I said:
Please join me for a picnic at 11:30.
I almost leapt for joy. On the second day I already had a date!!! Squee!
Grace's POV
After we were excused from breakfast, I was making my way to my room, when someone grabbed my wrist.
I looked back and it was Prince Max.
He looked angry. And at the same time bewildered. He probably hadn't ever had anyone stand up to him like that before. Ha!"Please let go,"I said calmly.
"Listen," he said fiercely. "Do you know what kind of trouble you just put yourself in? I could have you kicked out right now."
Honestly that hadn't occurred to me. For a second, I was fearful. I loved it here. But then I saw victory in his eyes. He thought he won. So I retaliated.
"I'm truly sorry but I'm afraid cuts aren't until tomorrow morning. You'll have to wait." I said. Thank goodness cuts aren't until tomorrow morning.
His eyes softened in surprise. I knew I was right. I smiled innocently.
Big mistake. Because right then, a photographer came by and snapped a picture.
I suddenly realized what this looked like. Prince Max was holding my hand, looking surprised but it could be mistaken for affectionate. And I was smiling and looking up at him innocently.
Both of our jaws hung open.
"Wait! No n n n n no!" I tried to stop the photographer but he just ran away.
I glared daggers at Prince Max.
"I think I will be happy to leave tomorrow." I crossed my arms and left, getting a glimpse of something like regret in his eyes.
