Driving test+Clarisse=you will have to read to find out. 'Nother thing: I'm fourteen, I've never driven in my life. My knowledge of driving tests are therefore very limited, so please, do not nitpick at everything I get wrong, because I will get things wrong. Dam it, that was long.
"Clarisse La Rue? Your turn," a voice calls from across the waiting room. Finally, I think. I was about to smash the wall with my fist. I hate waiting.
I blow the hair out of my face in annoyance and follow the middle aged man outside to the parking lot where he then leads me over to an old Ford sedan with a "STUDENT DRIVER" sign on top. The car doesn't even look legal to drive it's so banged up. I quirk an eyebrow and say, "You expect me to not crash this thing?"
"If you want to get your licence," he replies hotly.
I roll my eyes. This guy thinks he can scare me. Come on. No, you cannot scare me you idiot. I took down that Drakon, I kicked butt in the Second Titan War, I dominated those idiots in the Second Giant War — and he thinks he can scare me? Stupid mortal. I glare at him and climb into the car, taking the keys from his outstretched hand.
"Thank you," I say maliciously.
He raises his eyebrows. "Well, go."
I turn the keys in the ignition and the engine catches. I start to back out of the space.
The guy clucks his tongue. "Uh uh, Clarisse. Rear view mirror."
I glare at him, take an exaggerated look in the mirror and begin the back up once more. My "teacher" clutches his emergency hand brake, his clipboard and pen stuck in his lap. Idiot, I'm driving, you think a little "brake" is going to stop me?
I smirk. Screw my licence. I'm going have some fun. And I promise no one will die. Im not that messed up to just go around killing mortals — no matter how stupid they can get.
I take it slow out off the parking lot, tricking him into to thinking he's the boss, that he's in completely control at the moment. He slowly relaxes and takes his hand off the brake, placing it in his lap and fiddling with the pen. When I approach the exit, he tells me to turn left, and so I take a big look around. No cars on this empty stretch. I smirk. Go time.
I come roaring out of the parking lot. Out of the corner of my eye, I see my "teacher" about to press down on his hand brake. Oh no you don't. Not one for extreme thinking, I whip out a small knife I keep in my pocket and drive it into the seat between his hand and the brake. Because of the Mist I have no clue what he sees, but it must be scary, because his eyes widen in fear and he doesn't attempt to go for the brake again.
Good, I think. Let's get this party started.
I start veering off towards Camp Half Blood, steering between empty side street to empty side street. Trees, grass, and barren pavement in front of me. I keep on picking up speed until I'm well over 130 m/h and I can feel the car shuddering beneath me, about to break. Dang it car.
I keep pushing it though, grinning as I here the whimpers of my teacher in the passenger seat. I reach a hand over and pat his shoulder, "Live a little, bud. Seriously, loosen up."
He clutches the seat even more tightly if that's possible, his fingers white as Hera's robes. "Put your hand back on that steering wheel young lady! Put it back right now!" he screeches.
I roll my eyes and punch him lightly in the arm. "Relax, I'm pretty good at this. Last test I only crashed three times," I lie, making him panic. This is actually my first ever driving test. The mortal has nothing to fear, I've got a clean record.
Gravel kicks up against the sides of the ancient car as the road begins to deteriorate. I flick on the radio turning to a nice rock station. Nodding my head to the head banging beat, I ask the stupid mortal if he likes this stuff.
"NO! STOP THIS RIGHT NOW! TURN BACK! CLARISSE LA RUE YOU WILL GET BOTH OF US KILLED!"
"You really need to loosen up, mortal."
"TURN BACK!"
"How about...no?" Looking out the window, I see Half Blood Hill rising in the distance. "Hey! We're almost here! Maybe there's a new punk I can terrorize!"
I floor it. Dirt and gravel fly against the windows.
"YOUNG LADY! TURN BACK! TURN BACK RIGHT—"
That's when the engine decides to conk out. The sedan skids to a stop. Im thrown forward as the front wheels of the car go over the edge of the road, landing the windshield in a thicket of thistles.
I smirk, looking over to the mortal stuck motionless in the passenger seat. His eyes are wide and his face as pale as Nico's. "Now that, is what I call a driving lesson." Popping the keys from the ignition I throw them to him.
They land in his lap, as his hands are still glued to the edge of his seat. He turns to look at me slowly. I give him a mock salute. "Thanks, dumbass."
I prop the door of the car open, climb out and onto the road, and stretch as if I'd just driven a nice car ride. I then walk away from the crappy old sedan and its equally crappy instructor and towards camp half blood, totally ready to go thrash someone in a fight.
First off, I'd just like to say that driving isn't a joke, no matter what is written above. This is just a one shot with Clarisse being Clarisse, so please if I've upset any of you with anything I've written, I'm sorry.
Anyways, vote & comment,
