Mark of Athena Percabeth reunion.
Jason and three others I have never seen in my life, hop off the ladder that was connected to the enormous warship floating above us. One of the strangers is a girl who looks to have aboriginal background and choppy brown hair with kaleidoscope eyes. Another one is a skinny boy with elfish ears and Latino colouring. The last one reminds me much of myself. Strong, cunning, intelligent, a warrior. Her blond hair tumbles around her shoulders and her gray, thunderstorm eyes turn to everyone critically as she passes them.
I begin to walk forward, demigods parting like the sea, to meet them. I can feel my heart quicken as each step draws me closer to him. As each step draws me closer to Jason Grace, my old fellow praetor. I remember the way we used to work together, a strong force, commanding our Romans. Percy is alright, but he's a doer, not a talker like Octavian. Jason was both. Hopefully still is.
The blond girl and I stop a little ways away from each other, the other three demigods fanning out behind her. We silently contemplate each other. Leaders of two very different camps, sent to work together. Both warriors, both survivors.
At the back of my brain there's a tingle of familiarity. I study her more closely. She's older, but this girl is most definitely Annabeth, the one who refused Circe's gift and turned the Pirates loose. She's the one who began the process of what made me into what I am today. A true daughter of Bellona.
She's also Percy's girlfriend.
I watch as Percy comes forward, a smile blooming on his face. Annabeth turns her attention towards him, her features mimicking his.
I can't watch.
So instead I turn to the others and straighten my back, knowing I'll need all my strength to do this. I address Jason. "Jason Grace, my former colleague, I welcome you home. And these, your friends—"
Annabeth breaks into a run. My hand grapples for the place where my knife usually hides, before I remember that it's not there any more. I watch as Percy also tumbled forward. They collide, kissing as if there very lives need it to survive.
They broke apart, I see Percy's lips moving as if telling her something. All the sudden something seems to snap inside Annabeth and she takes Percy's wrist and flings him over her shoulder, executing a brilliant judo-flip.
Romans everywhere cry out and surge forward.
"Hold! Stand down!" I order. I understand what Annabeth is going through at he moment. She hasn't seen him in eight months. She was scared and angry the entire time. Now here he is, perfectly fine. She needs to take her anger out somewhere and it might as well be on the boy she's spent over half a year looking for.
Also I'm just a bit curious as to where this will lead.
Annabeth digs her knee into his chest and puts her forearm on his throat, pining him to the pavement. Her face full of rage and hurt.
"If you ever leave me again," she starts, "I swear to all the gods—"
Percy cuts her off by laughing. Laughing. I knew Percy had guts, but wow. "Consider me warned." His grin expands by another couple inches. "I missed you, too."
Annabeth's softens to a smile and she gets off of Percy, holding out her hand to help him back up. She stares at him as if debating whether or not to kiss him again. She doesn't though, and instead turns her attention back on me.
Jason clears his throat, breaking the silence. "So, yeah...It's good to be back."
I chuckle inside, he really hasn't changed.
Jason comes over to me, dragging the girl with choppy hair and kaleidoscope eyes as well as the elfish boy behind him. On closer inspection I realize that the girl is wearing a Hello Kitty shirt. Her expression and stance of command counteract the shirt's design, but everyone's entitled to their own choice, so I ignore it all.
"Piper, this is Reyna, daughter of Bellona and preator of Camp Jupiter. Reyna, this is Piper, daughter of Aphrodite," Jason introduces us.
"A child of love?" I ask.
"You can choose your friends, not your relatives," is her reply.
"Very true," I agree, remembering my own relatives.
"And that's Leo, son of Hephaestus."
The Latino elf flashes me a peace sign.
"And this is Annabeth." Jason pauses for the first time. "Uh, normally she doesn't judo-flip people."
Curiously, I ask, "You sure you're not Roman, Annabeth? Or an Amazon?"
She holds out her hand. "I only attack my boyfriend like that," she promises. "Pleased to meet you."
I shake her outstretched arm firmly and call out, "It seems we have much to discuss. Centurions!"
My senior officers come hustling forward. "Robin, tell the legion to stand down. Dakota, alert the spirits in the kitchen. Tell them to prepare a welcome feast. And, Octavian—"
"You're letting these intruders into camp?" The scrawny crow of a boy demands of me, looking offended as he shoves through the crowd using his bony elbows. "Reyna, the security risk—"
"We're not taking hen to the camp, Octavian." I give him a stern look that has my loyal warriors disciplined in a moment. "We'll eat here, in the forum."
"Oh, much better," he grumbles sarcastically, completely immune to my superiority. "You want us to relax in the shadow of their warship."
"These are our guests," I pronouncing each syllable as its own word, angry. "We will welcome them, and we will talk to them. As augur, you should burn an offering to the gods to thank them for bringing Jason back safely."
"Good idea," Percy interjects. "Go burn your bears, Octavian."
I repress a smirk from my face. "You have my orders. Go."
I watch as my officers disperse and Octavian finally leaves with a look to Percy and a suspicious stare casted over Annabeth.
"Excellent," I say, to nothing in particular. I turn to Jason. My heart beats faster, wanting to know if he still cares for me as I'm sure he did before. "Let's talk, and have a proper reunion."
Another update! Team_Leo333 you're OC will be the next update! Also,a couple of you have called to my attention that I haven't done a single part 2 of anything. Honestly, it's because I forgot.
So right now, I'd like to ask any of you to pick any of the updates I've ever done in this book, and I'll do a part two. The only exception is if it's one of the actual scenes from one of the books put in someone else's perspective. Other then that, anything goes. Another thing, I won't be doing everything you guys ask for, somethings have to be let to your imagination. I'll probably only do the first five or so that I get.
So comment quickly! Vote if you liked this update.
