Chapter 17: Baby Boy

I watched KJ and Khalil talk about everything.

"Daddy I met a friend at school today." KJ said smiling really hard.

"Oh word."

"Yeah."

"Are you being good for mommy?" Khalil put a small grin on his face.

"Yeah sir." KJ responded nodding his head.

The whole time at McDonalds I would zone out at times and my mind would flash back to the day of the party, the day KJ was conceived. I was only 14 when I lost my virginity to Khalil. I found out I was pregnant two months after the party. My mom did not take the news so well, she cursed me out, then cried. I think the only thing I was worried about was being pregnant in 8th grade.

I told NaJeah what happen that night and was more then pissed. She felt that Khalil took advantage of me. I hated Khalil's guts after that and never wanted to speak to him again, but sadly I was carrying his child and didn't have a choice but to see his face again.

"Mommy can we go get Ice cream after we leave here?"

"Um KJ I don't think your dad has time."

"Actually I'm not doing anything today so I have all the time in the world for you little man." Khalil said trying to sound like a smart ass.

"Yayyyyy. CHUCK E CHEESE." KJ yelled very loud. When did we agree on this?

"KJ come on now with the noise, use your inside voice."

"Erica chill out he's just being kid."

I rolled my eyes at Khalil. "That makes two of you."

"Do you really want to start with me?"

I ignored that comment and looked at my phone. I was really not in the mood to argue with this boy today. I was looking through my photos when I spotted a picture that I did not know was still saved in my phone. It was a random picture of me and Diggy, he was laying on my stomach while we were laying on my bed. We looked so happy.

"So Erica I heard what happened with you and ole boy." khalil said with a smirk on his face.

"Drop dead." I shot him an evil glare.

"Mommy that is very mean to say Grandma said don't tell people to die." KJ said.

"Yeah grandma said-"

"Khalil God so help me if you say another word to me it will be your last."

"Why all the hostility Erica what happened to us being best friends?"

"That ended at that 'party you invited me to." I said.

"Daddy can we go to Chuck E Cheese now?" KJ started whining.

"Yeah let's go you coming Erica?"

One Year Later

I'm on summer break along with KJ. I still live with my mom, but planned to move out soon.

(Rewind) After my younger cousins Eboni and Karlita went back home last year all hell broke loose. Eboni's mom found out about the video of her fighting Desiree and it was not the prettiest thing to see in the after math. Karlita on the other hand went back home and tried to forget that she even met Craig.

When school started in the fall last year I had to give up my full ride to Howard University to go to some Community College to take care of KJ. I am totally over the break up between me and Diggy. After word got out that we broke up, it was like a never ending conversation on Twitter, Tumblr and IG. And I am now used to seeing Khalil's face every other weekend. Ughhhh.
