Chapter One - Meet My Friends.
I remember the first time I set foot in front of so many people. I can feel my heart racing, I thought it would practically jump out of my chest as I raise the mic I'm holding near my lips. I remember my hands were shaking I thought I'd drop the mic since my hands were also sweaty. I gaze at the waiting crowd in front of me, their faces masked with anticipation and hype. You could tell in their faces that they were expecting something from you. Like you should top the performance of the band before you which was hilarious since we're practically beginners at that time when the band before us were professionals already.
I was fifteen that time.
Maybe you're wondering why an underage teenager can snag a gig at a well known bar called Last Drop. It's because of my brother's best friend who sees my potential as an excellent performer. He practically owns the bar and is extremely wealthy that he can manipulate anyone.
I turn around and see one of my bud slash drummer, Gavin, smiles at me assuring me that everything will be fine. My bassist, Sky, does the same. I nod at the both of them and smiled.
Turns out, performing on the stage is the best experience for me. I remember everyone roaring the lyrics of the song and dancing at the beat of the music.
Now, it's been a year. I'm sixteen already but the crowd hasn't changed a bit.
They were still insane everytime we perform.
I don't hide this side of me, actually. It's just that no one really cares to ask me about all of this.
Only my brother, his best friend, my two best friends and my two band mates know all of the deal behind our arrangement. I know a lot of students at my school knows it already since I caught some taking a picture of me or some would ask for my autograph randomly.
I don't mind, though. You can't hide this kind of set up anyway.
"Hey, best friend." I chuckle as I hear my best friend's overly familiar voice. I turn around and got swept from my feet as she lifts me into an enormous hug.
I look into this beautiful girl smiling in front of me, who would kill me if she heard me say she's pretty but damn, I'm sure as hell that I'm not lying. I know deep down, she knows it too. Even if she says she's not pretty but damn handsome, all the time. Well to be honest, she's far too good looking than any guys I know. Just sayin'. With her sleek short hair styled to perfection, her clothing style too far from good from any guys I know.
