Filler - Impress Me
Empress' POV
"Good morning, Ma'am. Welcome to Ever After." Myla, the place's receptionist, greets as I push open the salon's door entrance.
I really like the ambiance of the place. It's actually a spa and a salon combined, making it one of my favorite stress reliever place. One thing just irks me off big time though.
The bitchy receptionist who just doesn't seem to like me when I don't know her reason.
"Good morning. I have an appointment with Sharlene." I say curtly but it didn't escaped my eyes when I saw that she faintly rolled her eyes at me.
Talk about attitude.
Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you, girl. I can play way better than you in this game.
"Name, please."
"Empress Hyde." I say, watching her as she types probably my name to check my appointment schedule.
"You aren't on the list today, Miss Hyde." She smiles too sweetly as she looks at the schedule list on her computer while her fingers swiftly taps something on the keyboard.
"Can you check again? I'm pretty sure I have an appointment right now." I say, looking at my wristwatch.
She is about to open her mouth to say something irritating again but she was cut short when the door at her back opens, revealing my favorite perky hair stylist.
"There you are! I thought you weren't coming." Sharlene sighs dramatically while I raise my perfectly arched eyebrow at Myla who looks somewhat like a deer caught in headlights.
"My appointment is right now, right?" I ask Sharlene but my eyes are scrutinizing Myla who looked at me before she bows her head in shame and defeat.
Sharlene pushes Myla gently and types something on the computer. "Here you go." She smiles as she shows me my name on the scheduled list for today.
"Oh." I say, not dropping my gaze at Myla.
"I'm sorry, Miss Hyde." She says. "I must've typed the wrong name."
"What? Again?" Sharlene sighs as she expectantly looks at Myla. "It's the third time this happened on this week!"
"I'm sorry." She bows her head while I just rolled my eyes at the sight.
"Let's just go." I push myself to smile at Sharlene who is still contemplating on what to do.
"Don't think this is already over." She hisses. "I'll file a report about this so you better think of some damn good reason now."
Sharlene turns her gaze back on me as she smiles softly. "I apologize for the trouble. I promise it won't happen again."
"It's nothing. I understand that it's just a simple misunderstanding, no need to file a report for that petty accident." I say, forcing myself to say it's an accident even if I know it's not. What? I don't want more drama and complications.
"Thank you, Miss Hyde." Myla says almost inaudibly, as if embarrassed to be caught on the act.
Sharlene grunts at her before turning to face me. She smiles brightly as she leads me the way towards the hair cutting section.
"And what style would it be today?" She says as she ushers me to sit on the comfy salon chair. "Your hair is so beautiful, I'm so jealous."
"Cut it short." I smile sweetly, looking at her reaction through the mirror. I watch as she stops for a minute to look at me if I was being serious or not.
