Hey guys, if you're experiencing reading half published chapter, I strongly recommend to delete the whole book and download it again.

I know it's not much but I actually put effort in making every chapter so it pisses me off when my work looks like shit whenever some technical glitch happens.

You'll know if it's the end of the chapter when you see this sign ( # ) and maybe some words from me.

That's all, thank you and happy reading!

Chapter Twenty One - Down

Why am I even staring at the ground? I probably look like an idiot, while not daring to look at him.

Summoning all my courage, I glance up and find King biting his lower lip to keep himself from laughing.

Was that just a joke to him?

I feel my cheeks starting to heat up, while my mood shifts a complete 180 degrees.

Heck, my vision is getting all blurry with tears so I decide to turn my back on him quickly, before he even sees it.

I feel like I was just rejected there.

"Quinn, you alright?" He asks me with his damn worried voice as I blink my tears away but only dampens my wet cheeks even more.

Hell, how can this guy makes me cry so much within a short period of time?

"Of course, I am. Why wouldn't I be?" I try my best to sound cheerful but it's failing. I feel King's hand softly touches me on my shoulder but retrieved it as his phone rings.

I hear him sigh before he answers the call. "Hello? Mum?"

I take the chance to wipe my tears quickly with the back of my hand. After regaining myself, I plaster a small smile on my face and turned to face King who looks so deep into the conversation.

"Yes Mum. Quinn already told me about it. I'll go, don't worry." He says softly as his gaze flickers to mine. "I'll just drop Quinn off and I'll go home straight."

A gush of wind flew past me, making me unconsciously wrap my arms around me.

King is still talking on the phone while I watch him walk towards me, stopping until we're just a few inches apart.

"Mum, I'll talk to you later." He says as he hangs up. He slides his phone on his jeans pocket and wraps both of his big warm hands on my cold ones, raising it as he slowly bends down, softly warming my hands with his warm breath. "Hell, you're freezing."

I gulp, not knowing what to do. Should I retract it? Or not?

This is not good for my heart.

"Come on, Quinn. Let's get you home." He kisses me on my forehead and intertwines his fingers on mine.

I didn't say a word as I contemplate on everything that happens today.

We were on the last flight of stairs as I stop on my tracks and just stay rooted on the spot. King turns to face me, a confused look on his face.

"Are you tired?" He ask. "Do you want me to carry you then?"

"Were you joking when you said you like me?" I blurt out. His face was priceless, it was a mixture of surprise and confusion. I would have laughed if I weren't serious.

"No." He answers as he looks at me with an honest expression. "I do like you."

"Since when?" Cue butterflies flying right now.
