(Evan's PoV) <--Switching stuff up

I was the only one still outside when everyone walked in. I saw Nicole do her little victory dance before laughing again. Her laugh was smooth and loud, but made you want to laugh along. I stepped forward, only to get my shoe covered in wet, black paint.

"Shit," I muttered, shaking it. Nicole looked down, and smiled a big, toothy grin to me, as if to say, "I had fun messing with Alice."

Instead, she says, "Sorry 'bout your shoe, Evan."

I give her a shrug, and look up at her with my brown eyes. Her green eyes stare back, and her hair falls in front of her face. She looks happier than when she came here, and to be honest, I'm happy for that. If she's happy, that means she is getting used to us, maybe even wants to enjoy our company.

"You want to come down?" I call up to her. "I mean, before Tyler comes and beats you up for dumping paint on Alice?"

She shrugs like I had done, laying down on her back. Her head was over the side of the roof. My heart began pounding hard in fear she would fall to the ground, snap her neck, and die right in front of me.

She raises an eyebrow. "If I come down," she states, "he could beat me up anyway. It'll just he easier for him. Now, what's for dinner? I'm starving."

I roll my eyes. "If you're not coming down, I'm coming up," I tell her. She rolls her own eyes.

"I don't care."

My smile covers my mouth as I start towards the door. When I reach it, out of Nicole's sight, I open the door. It is heavy. I shut it, me still outside. If I was playing this right, I could get her to come down. It slams, and I hear Nicole jumping up. Her Converse are loud against our tiled roof.

I watch as she starts climbing down, biting her lip as she looked down to the grass. My steps are quiet as I near her. When she looks up, I duck beneath her. Then she looks down. Her eyes widen as she sees me.

"Ah, fuck!" She screams as she gets so scared that her hands slip. She falls, but I'm right there, ready to catch her. My arms get beneath her head and legs. Her gasp makes me smile, and her closed eyes makes me chuckle.

She was so small, yet so strong. Losing her brother must have been enough to put her on the edge, make her fight for what she loves.

That's why I fought to keep her here.

Her eyes open, and I stare into them. They are dark, and they dance in the little sunlight falling into the area. A smile creeps onto her face as she puts her arms around my neck, putting her head against my chest. I smile wider, and sigh to myself.

What did I do to meet her?

"Can we start playing now?" I hear Tyler ask as I start up Prop Hunt. I nod, and hit the play button.

"Okay," Craig says, "I'm on hunters. Tyler's on props, Evan's on props, Brock is on hunters, and Lui is on props."

Someone else connects, and I put my head in my hand. I just wanted to eat something, not make a video. I know my channel needs it, as I haven't updated in a week. Everyone expected something sooner or later.

"Hey," Brian says, "I'm on hunters."

"The teams are equal," Craig concludes. I nod, not wanting to really say anything. The game starts, and I move my character towards a bottle.
