Nicole and Josh started to set up the spirit board as Kay and Ethan went to go look for more candles. Josh kept sending the two on little mini trips together in hopes that would help talk to each other a bit more. Nicole knew what he was doing, she even kind of supported it. But constantly having them go off and do errands around the house together, that probably wouldn't fix the fact that Kay still kind of hated Ethan for the mistake he made.
When Josh came back down stairs with the spirit board he got from Kay, Nicole shook her head at him.
"You know getting them to work together, isn't actually gonna' make them work together," she looked up at him as he set the spirit board down and proceeded to take it out of the box. "Ethan messed up, you can't fix that for him."
"Well I'm his friend so I have to try, right?"
Josh pulled the board from the box, a small wooden piece with a glass hole in it, and a paper with instructions on it. He put the board in front of them and examined the wooden thingy while Nicole continued on.
"Man I just wish Ethan would just go for it, ya' know?" She sighed, placing her head on the table so that her hair covered the board. "If he would just make a bigger effort to apologize for cheating maybe Kaylee would just get over it."
"Well it isn't going to happen."
"Which thing?"
"Well neither if he doesn't at least try to make it up to her which, knowing Ethan, won't happen unless someone's holding a gun to his head," Josh frowned at the wooden piece and put it on the edge of the board that wasn't covered with Nicole's hair. "I swear they just need something to bond over, ya' know? Like some traumatic experience that will send them into each other's arms."
"Yeah, like, we should totally just dress up and murders and chase after them with plastic knives. Ethan could save Kay sand she would see how much he cares for her or something."
Nicole looked up at him as Josh grabbed the instructions and looked down at her. They stared at each other -- taking in the suggestion Nicole made for a second -- then they burst out laughing.
"Nice Nicole," Josh shook his head at her and chuckled.
"What's so nice?" Kay's voice came from the stair way as she and Ethan came down with more candles. "You guys aren't discussing on how to get me to stop cursing again, are you?"
"We were talking about murders," Nicole chuckled.
"Mhm," Josh nodded. "Plus, Kay, we would never do that... We gave up on trying to fix your messed up brain a long time ago."
"Shut up," Kay smacked the back of his head as she put her set of candles on the table. "But ooooooh! I like the topic of murders, they're hot."
Ethan's eyes widened. "What the hell?"
"What?" Kay shrugged. "Have you seen American Horror Story? Evan Peters is hot okay. And Jered Letto as the Joker in Suicide Squad was just... Oh my god; the Joker isn't supposed to be hot, but god damn he was fire."
"Wow," Ethan dropped his candles on the table, pointed at Kaylee, and looked at Nicole and Josh. "And I dated that."
Kay's eye narrowed. "Yeah well you also cheated on this as well so um --"
"Woah okay," Nicole grabbed Kaylee's arm before she or Ethan could say anything else. She could practically see the urge in Kaylee's eyes that she so wanted to tell Ethan off. "Um -- Josh! -- we kind of need you here!"
Josh's face was buried in the directions for the spirit board. "Well we can't start until I get how to use this."
"JOSH!" Nicole yelled/whispered at him and he looked up.
