I wake up and me and Kegan are still in the same position. I leave him sleeping and get up. I walk over to my house. There's cops in the driveway so I begin to run in.

I open the door and run into the living room. "Hi." One of the cops say. "Hi. What's wrong?" I ask. "There's been a accident." They say. "Who was in it?!" I ask surprised. "Your..... Father. He died. I'm so sorry." He says.

I stood there for a while and stared into space. "You have to have the wrong person. My dad's at work." I say. My voice cracks and I realize I'm crying.

The police leave my house. I fall to my knees and cry in my hands. I'm guessing Kegan saw the cops because he ran over. "Alexus!" He screams and I hear him run upstairs. He didn't find me there and he heard me crying. "What happened?" He asked and sat on the ground with me.

"He he he di... He died." I say softley as I cry. "Who died?" He asked. "My dad. My dad died!" I scream. Go grab some cloths you can stay with me tonight." He says and helps me onto my feet. He pulls me close and hugs me for what felt like forever. I rummage through my draws crying.

I grab some sweat pants and my old soccer jersey. I grab my backpack and a bag for my cloths and put them in the bag. I cry in Kegan's arms all the way over to his house.

We walk in and his dad greets us. "H... What's wrong alexus?" He asked. It makes me cry harder but I manage to say, "he he he he died in a a a a acci- accident." I stumble with my words when I say it but it makes me cry. His dad comes and hugs me. "She's staying with us tonight. Her mom does what mom did and she doesn't feel safe there." He says. "Let me call the cops honey, trust me you will have a better life." He says surprised. "NO! Then where will I stay? Don't tell anyone please. Please." I cry. He nods and puts down the phone. "You can always come over here when you need it." He says.

"Hey. Kegan who do you have over?" A boy asks. "O hey Mark. This is alexus. Alexus this is Mark my brother." Kegan says. I lift my head off of Kegan's shoulder and look at mark. "Hi." I say as I sniffle.

We walk to Kegan's room and I lay on the bed. I sit down on the bed and just cry. "Can you lay with me?" I ask Kegan. He nods his head and lays beside me. I lay my head on his chest and cry.

"Kegan? What am I gonna do? She'll never let me see you." I say. "Like my dad said, you can always come over here." He says and kisses my forehead.

Kegan's brother walks in and says, "Kegan? Is that girl still..... Oh." "Yes she is still here she is going thru a rough time." He says as he looks me in the eye. "Are you two like dating or something? Cause your laying afuly close." Mark says. "I don't know. Alexus are we a couple?" He asks me smiling. "Are you asking me out?" I ask laughing a little. "Yes I am." He says. "Ok then yes." I say smiling. "There's the smile I love." Kegan says.

"Awe!" Mark says. "Dad Kegan's got a girlfriend!" He yells down the stairs. "I know his girlfriend is Alexus." His dad yells from downstairs. Me and kegan look at each other and laugh.

I lay my head on Kegan's chest again and my mom calls. Kegan takes my phone and answers for me. "Hello." He says. "Yea she's here. She's staying the night with me." He pauses. "I'm not letting her come home to you. I saw what you do to her." He pauses again. "Yes she has cloths for tomorrow. I will drive her to school." He pauses and yells for his dad who comes running. "Alexus's mom wants to talk." He says.

"Yes she's staying the night." He pauses. "She's not coming home. They will do home work here." He pauses again. "Yes now bye." His dad says and hangs up.

"Thanks both of you." I say. "Of course. So how long have you guys been dating? It seems like a long time." His dad says and makes me blush. "About like five minutes." Kegan says irritated. "O wow you guys acted like you were dating a long time." He says and leaves the room.
