Chapter 4
I called Daniel to let him know that I wasn’t able to go to work for the next few days, as I tried to find an excuse to tell him he picked up the phone
“Hello”
“Hey Daniel, its Chloe I won’t be able to come in tonight or for the next two days”
“Well I’m glad you called me, are you alright? Cuz it’s not like you to miss work”
“No, I’m fine just sick Daniel” I said trying to sound as believable as possible.
“Alright, well take care”
“Thank you”
As we hung up the phone, I went back to bed to rest. My head was still hurting so I drank some Advil and went to sleep. With the bruises on my body it was hard to get comfortable, but when I finally did I went straight to sleep.
I was once again in the dark room with the fireplace, but this time it wasn’t so dark as before and the man by the window had a face. I had on a beautiful royal blue ball gown with ruffles and lace, sleeves that went off of my shoulders. My hair was curly and done up, but my hair was much more redder then my real color making it brighter even in the dark.
The man came from behind me kissing my neck and wrapping his arms around my waist. I didn’t want to move from his embrace so I turned around and kissed him softly on the lips, I caressed his face still holding on to him.
“I love you dearly” I told him
“Olivia, you are my world now, and I love you unconditionally”
We kissed once more but this time it was forceful and passionate, my arms wrapped around his neck. He took me to the bedroom and we began to undress, once on the bed I wanted to show him how much I loved him, how much he means to me. I could tell by his eyes he wanted to do the same, we made love and it was unbelievable how our body’s intertwined with one another.
I woke up to my cell phone ringing, I picked up and it was Emily
“I heard you were sick, you want me to stop by and bring you something?”
“No I’m good, thanks anyway” I said with a sleepy voice
“Ewe you do sound sick”
“Yeah well, are you going to be ok working on your own for the next few days?”
“Yeah I think I can mange. Ok got to go, bye”
“Bye”
I threw my phone on the bed to stretch out; I turned on the TV and began watching it. There was nothing really on so turned it off. I got up and began to make myself something to eat, then my phone began to ring, I looked at the time and it was six after seven. When I picked it up I saw that it was Mason.
“Hello”
“Hey Mason, I see that you do keep your promises”
“I always keep my word, how are you feeling today”
“I feel ok, I’m still in pain but I’ll live”
“I should have walked you home Chloe” then there was a long pause.
“Do you want to come over, and spend some time together” I waited nervously not knowing if he already had plans for tonight
“It will be my pleaser to come over; I’ll be there at eight”
“Great, see you soon”
When I got off the phone I went to take a shower, when I stepped out I wrapped myself in my towel and went to my closet. I wasn’t really sure on what to wear; I pulled out my skinny jeans and my black long sleeves shirt. I took out the two bottle of wine and made some dinner for the two of us, and then I heard the doorbell ring. When I opened the door Mason had a small grin on his face as he walked inside.
“Someone is in a good mood this evening” I said trying to find out why he was grinning.
“I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful you are without any make-up on”
“Thank you” then I blushed
“You’re very welcome”
We began to eat dinner and began to ask each other questions, I wanted to know more about him. So when we were done with dinner we sat on the sofa and began to drink the wine.
“Mason, why do I feel like I know you from somewhere?”
“I don’t believe we’ve meet anywhere else but at the bar the other night”
“I know, but your eyes seem so familiar to me, like I can trust you, and know I’m safe from the world” I began to laugh “I must sound crazy to you, right?”
“No, not at all, someone might meet a stranger and trust them within minutes of meeting them. That does not make you crazy, it makes you human”
We both smiled at each other, by him saying that I felt better. I couldn’t help myself but stare at him; every time he spoke he spoke so proper and wiser than his years.
“You talk like you’re older than your age, are you a professor or something?” I said now slurring my words.
“You could call me that, but no I just like to read a lot” laughing with me. “What made you move from Ohio to Chicago? He asked me.
“I wanted to start over, where no one knew me and I didn’t know the people. Plus I want to be a dancer here in Chicago; I heard this is where all good dancers come from. More wine?”
“Yes please”
“So where do your parents live?”
“They died eight years ago”
“Oh my God, I am so sorry to hear that “
He sighed and we moved on. I was getting really tipsy and I think he noticed because he took my glass away from me.
“How can a sexy guy like you be single?”
“I have dated but have not found the one”
“The one? What does that mean?” I asked, confused.
“All it means is that I haven’t made any connections with anyone, that’s all”
“Do you feel anything with me?”
“Yes actually”
That answer took me by surprise; I didn’t expect that from him. So I wasn’t the only one enjoying the moment, or maybe he drank too much wine as well. When I looked at him again he was sitting right up against me.
“Chloe I think it’s time for me to go, I would like to thank you for inviting me to dinner and for the wine”
I got up and he followed me to the door, when he was about to walk out the door he turned around and kissed me on me on the lips. I didn’t push him away instead I returned his kiss, when he pulled away he touched my face and said his goodbye, leaving me breathless.
