                                              Chapter 12

                                 When I woke up I checked my neck and it looked like I had a small hickey.  I went to take a shower and began to remember last night, how Mason was touching me and how seduction took over. When I was done and stepped out I didn’t bother to wrap myself up in my towel, I wanted Mason to see me naked. So when I walked out from the bathroom to the room, I could tell he was watching me. I took my time to get dressed to see if Mason would walk in. Then I heard the door open and Mason looking at me up and down.

“Are you trying to tease me?” he said

“No, I always walk out naked from my shower” I said trying to hide my smile

“Oh really, well I have to keep you warm then” he said smiling at me

“I don’t need…” he cut me off with a kiss.

Next thing I know I was undressing Mason. When he picked me up to take me to the bed we were both naked. I couldn’t believe I was about to do it and with someone I was falling in love with. Was I falling for him? I thought to myself. But when we began I knew then that he was the one for me.

When we were done we just stayed in bed. Mason had a glow in his eyes

“I haven’t felt like this in a very long time” he said

“What do you mean? I asked him.

“I haven’t been happy and I’m sorry to say this but, in love” he said looking down

“Are you embarrassed? Don’t be” I told him. Then I got closer to him “I think I’m falling for you too, I know it sounds crazy Cuz we only known each other for about two weeks. But I feel like I know you for so much longer” I told him blushing

“But you do know me for much longer. In your heart, love” he told me

I smiled and began to get ready for work. When I was done Mason and I began to walk to the Catwalk, when we got there Emily was already there and so was Derek. Mason told me that he needed to feed and he’ll be back before I missed him. When the locals began to come in, me and Emily began to work. A beautiful woman came in and sat in front of me, she had pretty ash blonde hair and it was so long and straight. Her eyes were blue but almost an aqua blue . I’ve seen her before but not sure where.

“Can I get you something” I asked her

“Yes, can I get a glass of wine please” she said

When I got her the glass of wine she thanked me and smiled. As I continued to work I notice that the woman kept looking at me. The more I looked at her the more she seemed familiar, and then she asked me for another glass of wine but this time to leave the bottle.

“What’s your name sweetheart?” she asked me

“Chloe” I said smiling at her

“What a pretty name. Well my name is Melrose “she said

“Thank you. Nice to meet you Melrose” I said

“No, nice meeting you” she said with a sly smile

I smiled back at her and went back to work. When I looked back at where she was sitting she was gone, I brushed off the strange feeling I got from her. When I went to pick up her glass I saw her name on a napkin and her number

Chloe

Please give me a call, it’s important.

                            Melrose

She left her number on the back of the napkin; I took it and put it in my apron. I told myself that I would call her after work. Then Emily came up to me and told me that she was asking about Mason. Did she know that he was a vampire or thinks I’m in danger because of him? Mason came in and saw my face of confusion.

“Is something wrong babe?” he asked me

“No nothing important” I told him

I went to Emily and asked her to cover for me, I was heading home early. I wanted to call this Melrose I just meet and ask Mason if he knew her. Emily told me that it was ok to head out. As Mason and I began to walk home I couldn’t help but hold him close to me.

When we got to the apartment I told Mason to stay in the living room while I went to my room. I took out the napkin and called the number

“Hello?” Melrose answered

“Hey it’s me Chloe. We meet at the Catwalk” I said

“Yes, I’ve been waiting for you. Are you alone?” she told me

“Yes” I lied

“You have to be careful with your new boyfriend, his not what he seems. He only wants you for one thing and he will kill you.” She told me

“How do you know about him and I don’t?” I asked, growing angry that a stranger knew more about my boyfriend than I did. And that Mason told someone about himself and didn’t bother to tell me.

“Ask him about the years in Leeds” she told me before hanging up.

I stood there dumfounded for a minute, thinking over what she just said. When I walked outside of my room Mason was still waiting for me on the sofa. i sat beside him and began talking to him.

“Mason do you know a woman named Melrose?” I asked him

“No, I don’t think so” he told me

“Are you sure? See seemed pretty sure she knows you” I said

“Well, I know a lot of people, Chloe” he said laughing a little, which pissed me off even more.

“Well, Mason” I said sarcastically “She had ash blonde hair, aqua colored eyes, thin lips, and pale as hell, does that ring any bells?” I asked irritably.

He just stood there and stared at me, his eyes loosing focus. I stared back, suddenly realizing that something was wrong with him, “Hello, earth to Mason. What’s wrong with you?” I asked.

“What else did this ‘Melrose’ tell you?” he asked me while his eyes were still widened  

“If you remember about Leeds, what the hell is that about?” I told him pissed off.

“Chloe, I have something to tell you” he said, looking me in the eye “The woman you met tonight wasn’t named Melrose; the woman you met was Bernadette” he finished.
