Chapter 9

                                      After a long night of talking with Mason, I had to get some rest. But I just wanted to spend more time with him. He must have noticed because he put his arm around my shoulder and I lean my head on his shoulders.

“You should get some sleep, I’ll leave,” he said softly into my ear.

“Well if you keep playing with my hair I will fall asleep” I said smiling at him

“Sorry love” he said smiling back at me.

“I like you a lot Mason” I told him as I dozed off. Not sure if he heard me or not.

When I woke up I was in my bed and Mason was at the edge of the bed watching TV. I didn’t feel him when he brought me to my room, I looked down and I was still clothed I was relived. As I sat up to turn on the side lamp, in a blink of an eye Mason was turning it on.

“Oh shit” I said scared

“What happened?” I said out loud.

“What happened, are you ok?” he asked me

“Yeah I’m fine, it’s just you moved so fast. I have to get use to it” I told him shaking my head

He smiled at me and sat next to me on the bed. He moved the hair that was covering my eyes; he softly kissed my forehead then my lips. His lips are soft but cooler; he kept kissing me while holding my face with his hand. Then I pulled away quickly covering my mouth.

“Oh my God I haven’t brushed my teeth eww” I said while I pushed my way to the bathroom.

He came to the door of the bathroom and starting to laugh, I turned to him embarrassed.

“Do you think your breath bothers me?”

“Yeah, I got morning breath” I said with the toothbrush still in my mouth

“I find it funny that you worry about your breath. But not the fact that I am a vampire” smiling at himself.

I stopped and began to think about what he just said. I washed my mouth out and wrapped my arms around his waist.

“I trust you in a strange way. And I’m getting use to the fact of you being a vampire” I said smiling at him  

Then he kissed me again on the lips but this time lifting me up so I wouldn’t touch the ground. We began moving to the bedroom and he began to lift up my shirt. I began to unbutton his shirt when we reach the bed I realized that I only had my underwear on and he had no shirt on. I had to pull away and stop myself, I wanted to make sure if we were ready for that level in the relationship.

“Mason, I’m sorry I can’t” I said putting my forehead on his.

“I understand, sorry if you felt rushed or anything” he said while putting both hands on my face

We got dressed and he walked me to work. When I got in Emily was staring at us, as if we were famous people coming in. she began to walk toward us.

“Hi. Can I get Chloe for a sec” She said to Mason

“Well of course you can” He told her

We walked away from Mason and she began to smile at me.

“I thought we were best friends. Why didn’t you tell me you’re seeing him?” looking over her shoulder to look at Mason

“I don’t know, it just happened and I was going to tell you” I told her

“Well I have to say he is cute good choice” she told me while hitting my arm.

As she walked away, Mason came from behind me and said

“She seems happy for you” lowering his head

“Yeah, she’s my best friend and I don’t have many boyfriends so that’s why she’s happy” I told him turning around and blushing. I was trying to find out where things stood between us.

“Oh” he said. Not really giving me an answer

I walked away and began to work, he had to leave but he promised me that he was going to be here to walk me home. The bar was really packed tonight I had to be all over the place at the bar. I was even needed upstairs, there was a birthday party going up there. I really did like working upstairs; I didn’t have to run around as much. The group was a bunch of twenty-one year olds having a great time. The birthday girl was so drunk that she could barely walk, she kept falling. I suggested a cab to take her home; no one was able to drive tonight.

When the party finished and began to clean up, I headed downstairs to help out Emily who looked really worked up. We worked really fast and got a lot of tips from the men, when one order came up I had to look up. It was Mason, he seemed to glow and his eyes looked like they were made out of glass

“Can I get you something?” I asked him

“Yes, I would like my girlfriend to kiss me” he said with a smirk on his face.

“What?” I looked at him dumbfounded “Are you for real?”

“Yes and I still didn’t get my kiss” he said teasing me

I lend over and kissed him quickly, I didn’t want Daniel to see me on the job smooching up my man. Oh my God just saying it seemed funny but I had a boyfriend who was a vampire, I looked at him and smiled like a little girl.
