—Christmas—
By far my favourite chapter.
I ran to the dungeons at eight in the morning, still in my candy cane onesie and fuzzy Santa socks. The presents I had were under a levitating spell, following me as I ran through the halls. I passed by couples kissing under the mistletoe who broke away just to watch me look like a candy cane lightning bolt struck me in the forehead.
I soon reached the section of the wall where the dark brick was, tapped it, and entered. I then padded into my dad's room and almost fell as the presents bumped into me when I stopped suddenly.
I waved my wand and a piano appeared in the corner of the room, one of my well-spent presents for him, and I had it play 'Sleigh Ride.' I quietly sang along and put the presents under the tree that I forced dad to put up. It was located by the fireplace and was decorated with green and silver ornaments with golden garland and a bronze star at the top.
I also noticed the presents addressed to me wrapped in green and silver under the tree. I smiled and lit a vanilla scented candle then made my way to the kitchen. I could still hear the piano playing Christmas songs from his room as I took out eggs, pancake mix, and sausages and started to cook.
I placed the finished food on two plates and poured orange juice into the glasses before having them follow me into the living toom where I made a table for two appear. It had a dark red tablecloth with a tiny tree centrepiece that was made of ornaments. I then simply guided the food to the table and checked the time.
Nine O'clock. Perfect.
I walked into his room where the piano was now playing 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas' and I stood at his bedside. I could see his green pajamas peeking out of his black covers as I poked his cheek.
"Wake up."
He grumbled and sliced the air in an attempt to push me away.
"I poked his cheek once more.
"C'mon! I made food! Wake up!" I said and pulled off the covers. He was fully clothed to my relief and he started to shiver as I played the piano music louder.
Groaning, he got up and I smiled triumphantly before going to sit in the seat closest to the tree. He walked over grudgingly, his hair a mess, and sat in the seat across from mine. I handed him a ponytail on my wrist and he took it before tying his hair back.
"Merry Christmas," he said after a few moments of silence.
I smiled happily—I love Christmas—and responded, "Merry Christmas."
We ate our food in peace and afterward grabbed our presents and retired to the couch.
Almost as soon as I sat, dad eagerly shoved a present in my hand. I laughed and ripped open the paper to reveal a box. I opened it to see a snake ring.
