—The Death of a Good Friend—
Everything was ready. It was all planned out and I was prepared. I knew the step by step on how my plan was going to work.
Step 1: Wait for Linda's letter telling you to go to the common room.
Easy enough. I found it amusing that she was basically walking into her own death.
As if on cue, a barn owl tapped its beak on the library window holding a letter. I took the letter and, sure enough, it was from Linda.
Clarissa,
You can come up now but be careful of Filch in the halls. Make sure you knock seven times on the door. The answer to the question will be 'Laundro Cenetum.'
Love, Linda
I shoved the letter in my pocket, flung my bag over my shoulder and walked silently and carefully to Ravenclaw Tower.
I followed my instructions and knocked seven times.
"What is one of the three spells used to complete laundry?" the door asked.
I pulled out the letter and said, "Laundro Cententum?"
"Correct," the voice said and the door opened to reveal Linda on the other side.
She pulled me in and dragged me up the stairs to the girl's dormitories and into her room.
"The fourth bed has been empty since our first year so you can just use that," she said. I nodded and dropped my bag that had the Slytherin crest on it on the bed and tied up my hair.
"What do you have planned?" I asked her.
"Well, first we are going to play truth or dare since it isn't a sleepover without a game of that," I agreed. I tried to be more smiley and happy but she was going to die that night. What was I supposed to do? Be all happy that she was spending her last hours with her murderer instead of friends and family? Well as far as I know, I killed the only family she had.
She told the other two girls, Rose and Kate, to sit in a circle with us. The two girls were suspicious of me at first, not that I blame them, but they warmed up to me quickly when I was as nice as can be to them.
Step 2: Gain some trust.
"Not all Slytherins are bad you know," I said. It wasn't a lie. Slytherin wasn't a bad house but it had a reputation for housing bad wizards... me being on of them...
They smiled at me and asked Linda to choose truth or dare.
"Truth," she said. I rolled my eyes.
Lame.
"Hmmm," Rose hummed in thought. Kate snapped and I could almost see the lightbulb above her head. She leaned over and whispered something in Kate's ear and Kate smiled evilly.
"Linda, is it true that you have a crush on Professor Snape."
Before ANYONE could respond I jumped up and yelled, "WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH. WOAH. WOAH. NO THANK YOU! NOT HERE PLEASE!"
The girls laughed at me as I cringed and shook my head.
"You guys are nasty," I said, slowly easing back into my normal state.
"Okay, anyway, Clarissa?" Linda asked.
"Hmm?" I responded.
"Truth or Dare?"
"Is that even a question? Dare," I said.
She thought for a moment and said, "I dare you to make that chair come to life," while pointing to a chair in the corner of the room.
