Chapter 4

The slave traders brought us to a wall outside with many other people chained to it. The men holding me threw me to the ground as I hit my head against the wall and put the chains around my feet and wrists. Lucy and Eustace were on either side of me, it was dark out as the sun quickly set. I could barely see anything as my vision became blurry.

"Are you alright, Eleanor?" Lucy asked.

I nodded and she put her head on my shoulder.

"I'm scared," she whimpered.

"It's okay, Caspian and Edmund will save us," I said confidentially though I was doubtful.

++++++++

"Eleanor! Wake up!" Lucy nudged me.

"What? What's going on?" I asked blinking at the sunlight making my head pound.

"They've come to take us," Eustace said solemnly.

Down the line of people, the slave traders were putting bags on their heads and putting them in a cart. They soon made their to us and unchained us putting handcuffs on our wrists and a bag over our heads. I was thrown into the cart landing on a few other prisoners. I groaned as the cart started to move and they took us into what must have been the town square. It stopped and slowly more people were taken out of the cart. While waiting I could hear the bidding.

"Eleanor!" Lucy yelled suddenly. They must have been taking her to auction off.

"Lucy! No, please!" I screamed then someone grabbed my shoulders and dragged me out. They led me up to what I thought was a platform and the bag was torn off my face and I found that I was on a stage where there were townspeople standing in front of me. I probably looked like a mess I could feel the stickiness of blood on my forehead and my hair stuck all over the place. The man in charge from yesterday who had threatened Eustace's life stood a few feet from me at a podium and started the bidding. I could see Lucy and Eustace behind the stage with bags still on their heads along with a few other prisoners.

"I bid 60!" One man shouted.

"I bid 80," another shouted.

"100 for the little lady!"

"120!"

"150!"

"Any more bids?" The man asked. No one else replied and he put a wooden sign around my neck that read 'Sold' and putting the bag back on my head. He picked me up by my arm throwing me into the crowd of people.

"Don't touch me!" I yelled frantically as they passed me through the people. Finally they must have gotten me to the man who bid for me the most. He dragged me through the crowd and I squirmed in his grasped around my waist. The man pushed me forwards out of the crowd and away from the auction, "Let go of me! Let go of me!" I kept repeating over and over, "Please, somebody help me!"

"Shhh, stop drawing attention," the man said covering my mouth from behind.

"Please, don't hurt me," I whimpered and we stopped. He didn't say anything but took the bag off my head as I was facing a wall. I turned around and he wrapped his arms around me, "Please," I begged again and they let go of me. I couldn't see him face clearly since it was dark in the alley we were in.

"Go ahead," he said gesturing to the hood.

I reached up with my hands still in cuffs tossing the hood off his head to find Peter grinning, "Oh my god, Peter!" I gasped as tears came to my eyes and I threw myself at him since I couldn't hug him. Peter laughed hugging me then kissed my head.
