Chapter 9
The dark clouds slowly disappeared and the sun started to shine through. I looked around searching for Peter but couldn't find him in the midst of all the crew.
"The spell it's lifting," Lucy observed.
"Have you seen Peter?" I asked.
"No, I haven't," she answered shaking her head.
I ran passed her. The last time I saw him was with Edmund after he fell. I bolted to the bow of the ship where I found planks of wood. I went around them and saw Peter beneath them, "Peter!" I gasped running to his side.
"Eleanor," he smiled a bit dazed.
I knelt beside him putting my hand on his cheek, "It's okay, I'll get you out of here." I grabbed the wood pulling at it but it wouldn't budge. I grunted as it wouldn't move and I fell back.
"Don't hurt yourself, I'll be fine," Peter said concerned.
"No, just keep your eyes open and keep talking to me," I said getting back up, pushing some of the wood out of the way. I looked at Peter and he started closing your eyes, "Peter, don't fall asleep. Talk to me, stay awake."
"What should I talk about?" He groaned.
"Talk about how were going to live in America together," I suggested.
"Well I saw this house that I thought you would really like," he said.
"Tell me about the house, what does it look like?" I asked urgently, "Caspian, Edmund, help!"
"It's light blue with big windows and a huge wrap around porch and swing," Peter answered as Caspian and Edmund ran up to my side before helping me.
Finally we got the wood out of the way and I put Peter's arm over my shoulders as Edmund did the same. We started to move but Peter put his weight on us and I almost fell.
"Here, I got him, Eleanor," Caspian said taking my place as I followed close behind them, "Eleanor, you should stay here," Caspian told me as they took Peter underdeck, Lucy followed close behind with her cordial.
"He's a fighter, he'll be okay," Susan said putting a hand on my arm.
"Look, Narnians!" Reepicheep said pointing out to the sea as boats full of people floated towards us.
"Mummy!" Gael yelled.
"Helaine!" Gael's father shouted before they both jumped into the sea swimming towards her.
"Let's have them on board! Clear the decks!" Drinian ordered.
We watched as the boats sailed closer. Lucy walked up next to me, "Is he alright?"
"Yes, he'll be fine," she answered.
"We did it," I sighed.
"I knew we would," Lucy smiled.
"Wasn't just us though," Susan added.
"You mean..." I said before there was a shout.
"Hey! Hey, I'm down here!" Eustace yelled from the water, "I'm over here! Hey, Susan, Eleanor! I'm in the water."
"Eustace!" Lucy shouted.
"I'm a boy again. I'm a boy!" He said happily.
"Eustace! I see your wings have been clipped!" Reepicheep laughed before jumping in the water as well and sang, "Where sky and water meet, where the waves grow ever sweet," He splashed his face, "It's sweet. It's sweet! Look, look!" He pointed out to the horizon.
