Animals are heaven sent. They're seriously too good for this world. I honestly can't understand those who say they're "not an animal person". How can you not fall in love with the little creatures of pure perfection? And then there's the parents who won't let their kids have pets. I have friends who have only ever had fish as pets, and I feel so bad for them. I couldn't imagine my life without my dogs and cats. To anyone who questions my pure admiration for them, here's a little anecdote expressing my perspective:
I was feeling pretty down a bit ago. I was laying in my bed staring at the ceiling, wishing I could just stop existing. I was empty, yet somehow feeling like a thousand tons at the same time. My laptop was open in front of me with the All Time Low Future Hearts album pulled up on YouTube and my headphones in, but not playing, just so I wouldn't look off if anyone walked into my room. I didn't know whether I would prefer to let out never ending waterworks or fade into a dark dull oblivion, but I knew I didn't want anything to do with life.
Then my literal angel of a cat comes up and starts nudging against me, trying to get my attention. When I was too mentally exhausted to respond to his adorableness, he just kept trying. Somehow, he ended up bumping into my computer, causing the songs to start playing.
I smiled a little as music filled my ears and pour into my mind, temporarily filling up the emptiness. Rolling my eyes at my little Tiger who continued to rub up against me, I reached my hand towards him and ruffled his fur. I whispered the lyrics as the song continued, Tiger purring along. And I know that at least for just right now, it's all okay.
