Jack's POV
It felt nice to have Mark care so much. I know we barely know each other but so far he is the best person I've ever met. The bus stopped in front of our school. I didn't want to go in the double doors, it was as if I'd be accepting my fate."Ready?" Mark helped me up and I nodded even though I was terrified.
"Hey, you'll be okay, I promise." We got into this wacky highschool and right away someone greeted me.
"Hi! I'm Emma, Emma Washnot. How are ya?" She stuck her hand out. Emma had blonde hair and blue eyes, her hair was curled and reached her mid back.
"I'm fine, um I was wondering-"
"Oh you have an accent! Adorable, I bet you're new here aren't ya sugar pop?"
I looked over at Mark and gave him a confused look. Mark just laughed and waved saying 'goodbye' jokingly.
"Yeah I'm new here, do you know where the principal's office is?" I saw some people look at me confused.
"Sure darling, just tell me your name." She smiled and gave Mark a quick dirty look and he just rolled his eyes.
"I'm Jack." I adjusted my cap and looked down at her shoes, she had flats on and a pink dress that was above her knees.
"Alright pudding pop the principals office is just down that hallway." She pointed and I saw where it was.
"Alright, thank you." I slung my backpack on my back and walked over there. Mark trailed behind me and I got my schedule.
Mark and I headed down stairs until a hand grabbed my arm.
"Where you off to?" I looked at who said that, it was Emma.
"I um have Science." I looked over at Mark who hadn't said a word in front of Emma.
"Oh come on you don't wanna be a stiff do you?" Emma said cheerily.
"I'll give you a tour around here." She didn't even give the choice I knew I had to.
"That's alright, I think I'll just stick with Mark." I looked over at Mark and smiled.
"I'm sure he wouldn't mind just ten minuets away, would you Mark?" She raised an eyebrow and Mark just rolled his eyes. I looked at Mark pleadingly hopping he'd say no.
Unfortunately he took this as a joke and laughed then said.
"Alright just don't freak him out." He pushed me toward Emma. I can't believe this. I'm not mad at Mark, never could be, but I wanted to be with Mark and not this Emma girl.
Before I knew it she yanked my arm and guided me into the halls. We were walking down the halls than she pointed to people and rambled off about who they were.
"We have the drunks, the nerds, the gamers, the stereo typical couple, the couple who claims not to be together but everyone knows is, the gay lord, the singers, the authors, the jocks, the cat lady-er guy, the artist, the lady's man, the fashion girl, the fashion guy, the animal lover, the emos, the bitches, the queen bee, the comedian, the sleep deprived, the tragic backstory then the weirdo. See? This is just another average Californian School." I started wondering where she fit in.
"I should probably go back to Mark now..." I looked around for a way out.
"At least let me show you my friends!" She grabbed my hand and dragged me down the halls until I saw two other girls. One had brown hair that was in a high pony tail the other had straight black hair.
"This is Jill and Chloe." Emma smiled.
"Hi I'm Jack." I put on a fake smile since my mom said smiling would get me through high school.
"When's your lunch period Jacky?" Jill said her black fringe falling in front of her left eye slowly.
"It's fifth period. Please don't call me Jacky." I look around for any sign of Mark.
"Why don't you sit with us, we'll be with the jocks." Emma said happily.
"To be more exact Kian and Jc." Jill said looking down at her phone.
"Can I bring a friend?" I look at the time on the clock behind me. Ten minutes since I left Mark.
"Only one." Chloe said filing her nails and looked bored.
"Are you bringing Mark?" Emma said happily. Maybe she isn't so bad?
"Plan on it, yeah." I feel happy thinking of him again.
Chloe dropped her files.
"You know what? Fine. Bring him." Chloe was getting on my nerves.
"Thanks guys, bye." I head upstairs and heard whispers behind me.
I look around and Mark was in the same spot when I was dragged out.
"How was your date?" Mark teased which made me laugh.
"Better than a date with you." I rolled my eyes playing back.
"That's a load of lies, our date was perfect." I know Mark was kidding but it still made me feel fuzzy, the thought of us together.
"Yeah okay true, our date was pretty spot on." I laughed and we started heading for our lockers.
"So what did she ask of you?" Mark opened his locker, mine was right by his thankfully.
"She wanted me to sit by her at lunch, I guess she just wanted another date secretly." I put all my books on my locker shelf and organize quickly.
"Well did you say yes?" Mark pulled out his History book, I guess we won't be in the same class for first period.
"Well I met her friends and I felt like they'd get mad if I said no... You'll come too right?" I look over at Mark who was banging his head on his locker.
"Well I kinda have to go now because I wouldn't want your date to be better than my date." Mark shut his locker and I walked with him.
"And why wouldn't you want our date to go well?" I laughed a little and before I knew it he took my hat.
"What is it with you and my hat?" I reached up to grab it but he kept pulling away.
"Didn't I tell you? This hat is the only reason I went on a date with you." Mark gave my hat back and I laughed.
"That's not what you said when we dated." I crossed my arms and he raised an eyebrow.
"Oh yeah? What did I say?" Mark whispered in my ear and I felt my face get all red. I knew he was probably just teasing me and playing along this game we were doing but holy shit it was hot. I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.
"You said I was a good kisser." I bit my lip looking up at him still having my voice quiet.
Our lips were centimeters away and the urge to kiss him became stronger by the second. My pulse was going so fast and I could feel the heat from blushing so hard.
"You're all talk and no action. You say you're such a good kisser, prove it." His voice was so quiet and the anticipation was killing me.
He tilted my chin up and next thing I knew the bell rang.
"I'd hate to be the reason you're late to your first class on your first day." Mark started walking away leaving me shocked in the aftermath.
I felt a hand grab my arm, it was Emma. Of coarse.
"Come on Jacky! You're going to be late." Emma started pulling me to my first period and Mark just laughed at us.
"Go on Jacky." Mark said teasingly.
She opened the door for me and I took a seat in the back, not really paying any attention to what the teacher was saying.
Jacky is such a small nickname. It sounds like a baby name or a dog name. They might as well call me Jackaboy.
