Jack's POV
Okay so last night was weird. Yeah great way to start off the chapter Jack! [breaking the fourth wall eh?] First, I debated on if I should break up with Mark then he dragged me into this abandoned park and kissed me while we painted a tree, so I decided I loved him and I would never break up with him. After that we went to a party and I barely saw him at the party because he kept running off. I was brought outside to see some fireworks by Chloe and Mark went inside, but didn't see me. Chloe and I went up on the roof along with everyone else as someone lit fireworks off. As exciting as the bright lights were, I kept my eyes locked on the path that led from the door, hoping Mark would come out. He didn't come out of the house for a really long time. When he did he asked me out so I changed my doubt and said yes.
This all happened in eighteen hours. Probably the most eventful night in my life... Probably. Ireland was still really crazy, but if America was as frantic as this sign me up because I could use a challenge.
Apparently, last night after Mark asked me out I must've passed out or something because I honestly can not remember any fleeting memory. Sure enough I'm home now and Mark is right-
Where's Mark. He had to come home with me. No one else in the school knew my address and he wouldn't casually give it away. Who put me in my bed?
I sat up straight and called Mark. I looked at the time. Eleven in the morning, not too early.
Ring, ring, ring. Silence. Ring, ring, ring. Silence, but no more rings and no answering machine.
"Hello, Jack? Is this you?" His voice sounded a bit concerned.
"What happened last night?" I needed answers, even if I should've said that nicer...
"What do you mean- oh. Okay so after I went on the roof, the fireworks got out of hand. The people who controlled it started setting too many off and the police came-"
"The police? What? Why?" I don't see the problem with a couple fireworks!
"They're illegal fireworks."
Pfffft! I guess America isn't as cool as Ireland. Metaphorically and literally because Ireland never stopped raining! Cold weather forever!
"Anyways, the police showed up and everyone jumped off the roof and when you jumped... You hit your head pretty hard..." There was some hesitation even if he tried to hide it. What was he not telling me?
"I brought you back and escaped out your window." I saw my window unlocked so I quickly closed it getting slightly paranoid, not by Mark. Just the fact someone could sneak in here...
"Why didn't you stay?" I walked back to my bed wishing he was there too.
"You needed sleep. By the way go to bed."
"Wait Mark!" I had to tell him something!
"Yeah?" His voice was so adorable and I loved every syllable that he said. Even if he only said 'Yeah?' It's cute, okay?
"I love you."
"I love you too, now get to bed!" I heard him chuckle over the phone.
"Okay, can I see you later today?" I sat up thinking of what to wear later
"I think it's best you just relax today and sleep. It was a hard fall you took last night." I couldn't have fallen that hard, my head felt- never mind.
"But-"
"Sleep well Jack, love you. Bye." His voice wavered a little and I heard the call end which only sounded like 'Sleep, Sleep, Sleep.'
Beep, beep, beep.
Call ended.
