Chapter 8 -Alex

I ran past trees and the atmosphere started getting darker.

I kept running until I saw her, staring at a zombie, who was walking towards her.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! JUST RUN!" I exclaimed.

She didnt listen and the zombie came closer to her every second.

I ran at the zombie and killed it with a machete.

I looked down at it to see what made her stand there, then I took notice.

The zombie, was Amy's mother.

"I'm so sorry." I told Amy, but she kept looking at her zombiefied mother.

"D-don't worry, you had to do what you h-had to do." She stuttered, then I pulled her into a hug.

"I didn't deserve this, NONE of us did!" She said hugging me back.

"I know, I know sweetheart." I said trying to comfort her.

"Let's go back with the guys, they are probably worried, anyway, what did you do out here that you had to do?" Alex asked me raising an eyebrow.

"Oh......nothing." I said.

{Flashback}

"Guys, I'm going to take a break." I said turning to the forest.

Alex must've not payed attention because she would most likely say something like, 'Come back before the sun sets!'

I walked toward the forest, then I found a cliff.

I looked at the bottom of it and there was a lake down there.

I took out my necklace from out of my pocket.....that dreaded necklace.

It always reminded me of my mom, always gave me nightmares, always made me frustrated.

I know my mom gave it to me long ago, but I can't stand it anymore.

The necklace was made of iron, and it had a crystal dangling in the center.

I put it in front of me, and let go of it.

I saw it fall down, into the bottom of the lake.

My mom's words ringed in my head, 'I want you to keep this necklace and to have it at all times, promise?'

My answer making me feel guilty, 'I promise!'

I got on my knees and put my hands on my face, "Im sorry......"

I think I was there for 3 hours, mourning.

Then I heard a sudden growl.

I looked up, and there stood my mother, but when I looked again, she was a zombie......

{End of Flashback}

"Alright, whatever you say." I said shrugging and leading the way back.

~2 minutes later~

"Are you guys ok?" Haley asked me when I came back.

"Yeah, we're fine, just a zombie." I answered.

"Wait, you didn't get BIT, or did you?" Haley asked Amy.

"Nope." She answered.

"Ok good, come on in!" Haley said greeting us in.
