Chapter 18 - Ben

"Ben, can we talk in, private?"

I looked at Alex in surprise.

Why would she want to talk to me in private?

Is there something she wanted to talk to me about?

All I knew, is that she was acting strange lately, at least, that's what I've heard, so I just give her a small nod, and she literally drags me to a room in the house, and closes the door.

"Ben, you uh, you know where Queen Alyson is, right?" Alex asks, hesitantly.

I give her a blank stare, why the hell would she want to know where Queen Alyson is?

Is there something she had planned, an attack, maybe?

"Uh, yeah, I do, why? Is there something you want to do?" I ask, looking at her, confused.

"No reason, oh, and, do you know if Queen Alyson keeps a laboratory, well, you of course would know that, but, does she keep, poison, perhaps?" Alex continues.

I gave her a weird look, ok, these questions just start making me feel confused.

"Uh, I guess you can say that, but, why in the world would you want poison?" I ask her.

"No reason, once again, anyway, do you know where her base, is?" Alex asks with a pleading look on her face.

I sigh and rub my temples, thinking.

I wasn't thinking about where Queen Alyson's base is, I was thinking IF I should tell her where Queen Alyson's base is.

You know that feeling in your stomach that something is definitely not good?

Well, I was having that one sensation, but, this is Alex I'm thinking about.

Knowing her for a while, she hasn't done anything to harm any of us, so of course she wouldn't harm any of us.

"I can't tell you verbally where she is, but, I can show you." I say hesitantly, and looked in my pant's pocket, and pulled out a map.

I haven't really paid attention to that map, and almost planned in getting rid of it, but, oh well, I guess it passed through my mind.

"Here, this is a map on where to go to reach her base, I've been tracking down our location, so I'm guessing we are right here," I explain, pointing to a small area of the map, "So, that means, you'd have to go here, then here, and then you'll reach her base."

I glanced to see her, and she had a satisfied smile on her face, which sent shivers down my spine.

"Thanks for the info doc." Alex remarks, getting the map, examining it, then putting it in her pocket.

"No problem, I guess." I mutter unsurely, then she exited out of the room, with me following behind her.

Everyone looked up from what they were doing, with them giving me a so-what-happened face.

I waited for Alex to go upstairs, then I say, "Ok, before you guys throw yourselves at me, no, nothing 'crazy' happened, but, she did give me a 'weird' request."

"So, what was it?" Makayla asks, eating a small chicken leg, and glanced up at me.

"Well, she asked me where Queen Alyson's base, since, I used to work for her." I say, wincing.

"Wait, WHAT?!" Kate exclaims, getting up immediately.

"Whoa whoa wait! We can explain! Ben USED to, until, well, it's because of, personal reasons." Dawn says, looking at me as if to not offend me.

"Yeah, he doesn't do it anymore, he's our personal doctor." Ty says, giving me a small smile.

I roll my eyes, "Yeah, for every thing you guys do to get yourselves killed."

"Anyway, not the point, well, yeah, she asked me where Queen Alyson's base was." I continue.

"Why would she want to know that?" Jackie asks, frowning.

"I have no clue." I answer, shrugging.

"I don't know about you guys, but that doesn't sound good to me." Mitch remarks.

"Mitch has a point, Alex, so far that I know, wouldn't ask for something like that, unless she were preparing an attack." Jason explains.

"Well, wouldn't it be wise to ask her?" Star suggests.

"I tried doing that, but she wouldn't give me a direct answer." I explain.

"It wouldn't hurt trying again, would it?" Makayla says, getting up and walking upstairs.

"Makayla, where are you going?!" Star asks, looking up the stairs.

I hear Makayla knocking the door, and yelling, "HEY ALEX! Open up! Please?"

There wasn't an answer, until I hear a door open, and Makayla shouting, "GUYS! SHE'S NOT THERE! Alex left!"
