Chapter 13, Hope?

~Nobody's POV~

3 days after the match flew by faster then lighting and after the bitter loose everyone was practicing as hard as they could. Kurimatsu had sprained his ankle during the game so he left for Japan to recover. Leaving Fubuki to take his place, though it hadn't been to much surprise. You pushed your self as hard as humanly possible, your mind being in total chaos after the recent events.

"(F/n) you need to take a break and rest" Idoya glanced at her best friend sadly. She knew something was off, very off. You didn't answer her as you walked passed, dropping your empty water bottle on the wooden bench.

You kept you head down as you took your place next to Fudou, who would repeatedly look at you from the corner of his eyes before Kantoku blew the whistle to start the next drill.

"I'm pathetic....I couldn't protect the others. I couldn't protect Neko. I can't even help my team win....what use am I?" Your body moved on it's own during practice but it wasn't really you. At the end of practice Fudou volunteered to clean the field then pulled you with him once everyone began to make their way back to the lodge.

"Fudou let me go" you struggled against his grip as he dragged you off into the forest. He didn't say anything the entire time, only tightening his grip when you came across a small stream. He sat down and looked over the cliff.

"Look, I don't know what the hell is going on in your head but i can tell that's its not pleasant. I met with Genda the other day. He told me everything." You looked down at your feet before slowly sitting beside him and pulling you knees up to your chest. Fudou glanced at you, whistling a familiar tune. It was the song we danced to at the party. You let out a choked laugh, tears you hadn't noticed before falling onto the stone cliff.

"I'm surprised you still remember that" Fudou laughed, nudging your side. You stopped laughing, thinking about Neko and everything that has happened over the past two weeks. Fudou noticed this and stopped laughing.

"Fudou what do i do? I let the others down....I let Neko down and I-" You whispered in sorrow. Fudou sighed and pulled you closer to him, shutting you up relativity quickly.

"Never knew you had a soft spot Fudou!" A voice chirped from the tree line. Your face was scarlet when you guys lips separated from each other. Two figures stepped out from the shadows, one had light brown hair and markings on his cheeks. A brown tail swaying from side to side. The other had grey blue hair with two wolf ears perched neatly one top and a silver tail wagging rapidly.

"Fubuki! Genda! Wait...if you guys are here then....does that mean?" You ran over to them from you spot on the ground, Fudou lazily following you. Fubuki nodded and gave you a map, which you gladly took, Several places where marked off in red while a few where marked off in blue, black or green.

Genda pointed to the make shift key on the side of the map, "Red is the places where he has captured not only Neko but others as well. Blue are targets, Green is paths he doesn't know about which we'll use from now on, and Black is where his buildings are." You folded up the map, placing it in your pocket before hugging them both tightly.

"Thank you both so much." They nodded and walked away, taking the path they used to get here. You turned to Fudou and tackled him, wrapping your arms around his neck. Sobbing until you couldn't summon any more tears you ended up passing out in Fudou's arms. He gently kissed your forehead before standing up, holding you protectively in his arms and walked back to the lodge.

"I really have gone soft" He muttered, trudging towards the door only o almost have it swung open in his face. Two figures stood in the doorway, one seeming very freaked out while the other stood totally calm.

"What happened to her" Idoya screeched, causing (F/n) to shift in Fudou's arms. He glared at her, silently telling her to shut up. Tobitaka pulled her gently out of the door way, allowing Fudou to walk in and up the stairs to (F/n)s room. Idoya opened the door, Fudou grunting out a quick thanks before placing (F/n) on her bed and waling out of the room, closing the door gently behind him.

"We met with Genda and Fubuki earlier. We're getting Neko back." Was all he said before going into his room for the night. Idoya and Tobitaka glanced at each other, smiles creeping up on the girl's face. Tobitaka let out a breath of relief and took Idoya's hand in his own before they both made their way down stairs. Everyone was gathered in the living room watching the match of the team their supposed to play next.

"How are they?" Endou asked from his seat in between Gouenji and Kidou. The rest of the team, one by one, turned their attention to the pair. Eventually the video was stopped and turned off.

"(F/n) is doing better. She'l be fine thanks to Fudou" Tobitaka answered the silent question. Idoya glanced over to Fubuki, mouthing a thank you when nobody was paying attention. The said boy nodded and stood up from his spot.

"I think we should get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow." Endou nodded in agreement, the rest of the team cleaned up before going off to bed. Some point after midnight the doors where opened and closed every once in a while. Idoya giggled as she buried her face in Tobitaka's chest, slowly drifting off to sleep

Things may seem bad now but....they'll work out some how.

Wow it's been so long! Over 6 thousand views, you guys are awesome! Thank you guys so much for all you wonderful comments and putting up with my lack of updating. So i'm sad to announce that this story is almost finished. There's probably going to be around 7 more chapters before the official end of the story. BUT!
