Arabella's Point of View

"Close your eyes" Drew says. He sounds so calm I find myself obeying without hesitation.
"Spread your wings as far as is comfortable." He says. It is hard to focus on my wings when every part of my body is going crazy from such close contact to him. My wings finally spread behind me and I feel a smile creep onto my face. A slight breeze blows by and it feels as if it is caressing my wings begging me to just leave everything behind.
"Now relax, imagine you are in a pool, you are just floating" he says, his voice breaking the spell of the wind. I take a breath and relax. I feel the muscles in my wings begin to hold my own weight. Drew takes one hand off of my waist and gently slips my legs off his waist. I Slowly relax my hold around his neck and can feel my wings and the wind and air around me holding me up.
"It's all you love" he says. I open my eyes and see him there in front of me. I automatically look up at his eyes and quickly look away, memories of him flooding my head.
I slip my arms down from around his neck.
"So what now?" I ask. Breaking the silence that seemed to have enveloped the area. He begins to move away from me, his wings moving rhythmically behind his back.
"Come on. Try to come over to me" He says stopping a good distance away from me. I focus on the movement of my wings behind me, the steady beating through the air as if I have a second heart. I lean forward toward Drew and feel my wings slightly adjust to my movement. I move forward easily and begin to laugh. I go past Drew and turn back looking at him and laughing "come on slow poke" I tease and turn to continue moving away from town.
He comes from below me and quickly pulls slightly ahead of me, turning over he laces his fingers behind his head as if laying on the ground and grins up at me. I laugh and shake my head. He rolls over again and comes up next to my side. As we reach the top of the mountain in front of us he reaches over and touches my arm and begins to hover. I stop and look at him.
"Whats up?" I ask. I see him glancing around and into the valley ahead of us.
"There is something wrong here." He says. "Follow me, and stay close" he says. He drops down really close to the tree tops. I follow and hope I don't run into a tree. He flies forward down the edge of the mountain. he is flying low and pretty fast. I have trouble keeping up but I manage to stay close. I can tell if I wasn't holding him back he would be going much faster. He stays to the edge of the valley and as we turn around the edge of the mountain side I see a building in front of us.
Or what used to be a building. Its smoldering and smoke rises gently from the remains. He stops and I hear him mumble under under his breath. He lands on the ground at the edge of the clearing around the place. I land behind him and step forward next to him. "What is this place?" I ask quietly. I have a feeling in my gut of pain and evil. I feel myself pulled forward to the wreckage before Drew answers. The place was big, whatever it was. I'm standing in the edge of the mess when Drew steps up next to me.
"This was our sanctuary, our safe haven, our place to meet safely without others knowing about it." He says. I can hear worry in his voice. I realize he was supposed to bring me here. This was where I was supposed to meet the others.
The others. Where are they? If they were supposed to be here, what happened?
"Drew, where are the other people?" I ask quietly. I can't seem to make my voice speak normally.
"They should be here" He says, his voice cracking. I feel the pain in my gut grow and as he walks out into the wreck I follow him. I look around and feel drawn over towards a part of the building that seems to be a bit out of the way. My vision all of a sudden goes blurry and my head feels like I've got a cloud in it. I stumble and fall to my knees and all of a sudden I know there is a person over there, they're stuck and hurt, but their alive.
Drew is next to my side all of a sudden pulling me to my feet and my head clears.
"What happened? Are you okay?" He asks.
"I'm fine." I say I pull away from him and move towards where I know someone is. I don't know how I know, I just do. I stumble multiple times before Drew catches up with me and grabs my arm.
"What are doing?" He asks me.
"There is someone over there!" I say
"What?" he asks like he didn't hear me.
"There is someone over there they need help. I can feel it Drew. Please." I say. I hear my voice as if from someone else body. The second his grip loosens on my arms I push past him and climb into the pile of rumble in the area. I hear someone struggling to breath.
"Drew! Right here!" I yell. "Their right here!" I say. I see a girl buried under some rubble, her face has cuts all across it and blood is crusted across her cheeks. The arm I can see looks to have burns on it.
"Falah!" I hear Drew say next to me. He quickly begins working on unburying her. She looks to be about our age but I can't really tell.
