Arabella's Point of View
*******
I walk into the kitchen and see Falah sitting on the table and Drew pacing back and forth in front of her.
"Hey" I say to get their attention.
"So I haven't had a chance to introduce myself. I'm Falah." She says, sliding off the table and holding out her hand. I reach forward and shake her hand.
"Arabella." I study the girl in front of me, She's cleaned up now, well the blood is gone at least. She's still in her dirty torn up clothes, her hair similar to my earlier state.
"And I'm going to take you into Drew's room and get you clean cloths and stuff. Come on." I add onto the end of that.
"I don't.."
"Nope no argueing I interrupt her." I say cutting her off. I turn her by her shoulders toward the door and walk behind her to his room. I dig through his cloths to find sweatpants and toss them at her.
"Here, these ones are comfy" I say walking over to the closet and pull out a plain t-shirt for her also tossing it to her. She strips out of her old clothes and slips on the ones I threw at her.
"Come on" I say and walk into the bathroom. I forgot how much I used to be in this house, it feels so normal. When she walks in behind me I hand her a brush and a washcloth and she goes to work on her hair in front of the mirror.
"So how do you know Drew" She asks me. "When he was told earlier today you were one of us and he was assigned to bring you to the Sanctuary he said you guys have history, and that he didn't think you would trust him." She says.
"We were together a while back. It didn't end so well. I was hurt." I say quietly.
"Oh, I'm sorry" she says looking at me.
I study the girl standing in front of me. It's the first time I've really looked at her wings, seeing as I kinda passed out when I was healing them. They are a mix of red, orange, and yellow blending so seamlessly you can't tell where one color is but more they are all there at once. They look like fire, I think to myself. It looks amazing with her brown hair that falls just to her collar bones.
"It's okay." I say. "I don't know what's gonna happen now."
"Come on let's go back to the kitchen and the three of us can talk about what needs to happen next" She says putting the brush down and turning back to look at me. This girl and I are gonna be friends.I though as we walked back to the kitchen. I hop up onto the counter and sit in the spot I always used to out of habit.
"So I have a few questions" I say. "First off, you said were Guardians? What exactly is a Guardian?" I ask looking between them.
"Well Guardians work kinda as an in between for our world and the Fae world. There are a few different portals in different places in this world that can be used to go between worlds. Our job is to keep people from finding them. And now to keep the Rebels from getting into them. The Fae world is filled with magic, if people were to get a hold of it they would destroy that world and this one. Fae is a beautiful place, there are no wars, no fighting for resources, people work their jobs and everyone has what they need, your literally not allowed to pay for stuff, it's weird when your there." Falah answers excitedly. I can see a glimmer of a person I assume she really is. Happy and excited, probably the kind of girl that is bouncing around all the time excited about everything she sees. "But I'm getting off track. There are 5 types of Guardians. You probably noticed the different color wings. Drew is water Gifted. I'm fire Gifted. There are also air and earth as you probably guessed."
"So which am I?" I ask a bit confused. I can totally see their "gifts" as she called them in their wings, but my wings don't really look like earth, or air.
"You're the 5th kind. Really really reallly realllllly rare. Your what is called a Hyper Guardian. We don't really know what your powers are supposed to be but we saw you can heal." She says.
"She also somehow was able to sense you were there Falah" Drew adds. She looks at me.
"How?"
"I'm not sure, I just had a feeling in my gut that there was someone there, and they needed help. So I went to where I felt it coming from" I say.
"Hmmm I've never heard of that before." Falah says. but that isn't surprising, you are the only Hyper Guardian I know of."
"Oh well that's encouraging" I say in my sarcastic voice.
"Sorry" She says shrugging her shoulders. I can feel my eyelids being dragged shut, as if someone tied 100 pounds of brick to them.
"I'm really tired" I say through a yawn. "Can we please sleep and you can explain stuff when we are on the move tomorrow?" I ask
"I think it would be a good idea to sleep" Says Drew "It's past 1 in the morning. And tomorrow will probably be a long day."
"Ya, I agree" says Falah. "I call the comfy couch!!!" She says all of a sudden running out into the living room. I laugh at her enthusiasm and slip off the counter.
"You can sleep in my bed tonight love, I'll take the floor" Drew says quietly walking down the hall behind me. I don't say anything, just walk into his room and sit down on the oh so familiar bed. I remember so many nights just cuddling and falling asleep next to him. I slip under the covers and think about asking him to come up next to me on the bed but then decide against it. I lay down and fall asleep the second my head hits the pillow.
